You will be hard pushed to find a better example than this! My father has this beautiful example which he's considering selling and wanted some advice on value. The car is absolutely pristine and original having been stored in a heated garage for most of it's life. It is a true time warp example in metallic burgundy with a genuine 28,803mls recorded. It's the 2.0l CDi Auto model with immaculate light grey/silver velour interior with wood trim. It has the original factory stereo with 10 disc CD changer in the boot and there's cross spoke design alloys. The car has had rubber mats added over the factory ones so it really looks like a showroom machine when these are removed. The protective plastic tear off strips are still on the chrome sill plates! The rear arches are still as fresh as the day they were painted and the engine bay puts an appreciative smile on your face as soon as you lift the bonnet. Needless to say it runs beautifully! Trouble is knowing what to ask for it....can anyone advise what we should be considering for an asking price. I have taken some photos and can pass on to anyone who can spare a few minutes to cast an eye over them for us. Perhaps someone in the club might be looking out for a particularly good example to enjoy? Email me on alastairmackie@onetel.com and I'll whizz a few pictures to you. Many thanks in advance........

Not the best time to sell after Xmas. I've a very good Carlton estate but no takers although lots of interest.
Got to be worth at least £1k if somebody wants one now. Not a lot of cash around at the moment as we all know. Summer time for viewing is better.

Car is in north of Scotland, located near Aberlour-on-Spey which is half way between Inverness and Aberdeen (roughly 3&1/2hrs north of Edinburgh.)

The value is a)what he is willing to let it go for and b)what someone is willing to pay need to establish a) first Bottom line you get a good 2.0 auto in this spec for around £400 - £500. However this is in exceptional condition so could probably go for at least £1000, but at that price don't expect a quick sale. Most people willing to pay that money are looking for a good GSi Location is a downside for most (Though for me its more accessible than MoK's estate LOL). Also whats the MOT/tax situation, (Big factor on value) For me it ticks a lot of boxes but not all, so right now I would offer £600 if its road legal and fully expect to get told to shove it.

More info from Ally Hi, A few more details for you on the carlton. Just checked on mot and tax situation..... Taxed till 30th June. Mot'd till 23rd August. There's a folder full of old mot's which shows the car has only done about 500 miles in the last 6 years or so. The 28,803 miles is absolutely genuine, no question. There's a new genuine vauxhall battery fitted and it's three quarters full of fuel. Oh, and there all new tyres fitted......should still have the bobbles on the tread I believe.
Regards, Alastair.
