Is this the one with one size too small tyres that previously had a private plate on (that I cant remember)?

Are the tyres 205 60 15s?

£5 will buy you the details of everyone thats ever owned it and number plates its had etc from DVLA. Just fill in a form V888 if I remember right.

Yes, thats the one, even smaller tyres than I remembered. The only GSI Ive seen with too small tyres is a red 24V so Ill bet thats it.

They should be 205 65 15 and to me its always looked awful with those ones on. Its only tyres though, easily changed and not as important as the rest of the car.

Cant remember its old plate though, Im sure it was an ABS members car and I wouldnt be surprised if lots of people have pics of it from years ago at Billing etc.

A V888 form is worth a try if you like to know history.

nah course not, tyres will always make a car change its look, but if you put on a lower profile tyre without increaseing the size of the wheels, then your speedo will start to go out of sync when you reach speeds over 60-80mph,, dont sound alot, but maybe worth sticking to the factory guides when it comes to the increasing punishments the gov are issuing for speeding. Food for thought is all Smiley

So on another note, stick some 16'' wheels on it, so you can put 205/55/16 tyres on it, or 17'' wheels which will result in 215/45/17's... ooooo bet that wud look nice Wink

I'm not keen on 17" rims on a Carlton, to be honest. Think it looks better on 16" rims. However should the rims in question be BBS, them the 17" rims will work. The BBS cross spoke rims seem to suit any car in 15", 16" or any flavour for that matter.

Just my personal thoughts.
