Not sure if "members rides" is a working post still, so.............

After a long search found the high spec 24v auto estate I wanted. 1994 Diamond in black.

65k miles, with no rust I could find other than a bit on the bottom inside of 2 of the doors on the seam and the usual surface rust under. Engine sounds sweet with no rattles. Need to put the fan shroud back on.

Going to use it for a few weeks before getting under to stop any rust forming.

Looks damn good and only 65K; certain signs that I look for tell me that the engine seems to have been properly looked after too Wink

Enjoy Smiley

Nice find Keith, now there's two 24v diamond estates in Medway, both black, same wheels, both driven by old codgers (my dad normally drives my diamond) could start a club! Grin

About 2.5 hours by car in Suffolk. Fortunately the owner was in TC and had seen my pleas for a good one and gave me first shot. Took me about 4 years of looking, lots of wasted journeys but finally got one. Now I have to sell the club estate I have which is nearly as good. With the cash from that I can spend some money on the underside with rust proofing etc without wifee complaining, more then usual if you know what i mean.

Interesting that it has a black plastic box awith lid bout 2'6" x 1' x 1' with a depression to miss the wheelarch which must have been an accessory because it has GM moulded into it and fits so snug with two screw clips that it must have been for the Carlton. Never seen one before.

Pics of box to follow. More pics of car courtesy of Alastair. Like all pictures it flatters them but its pretty good! Might be when he bought it? Do I keep the Irmschers or put the diamond wheels back on? 17" Irmschers sure are bumpy. Especially when I pump the tyres up Alastair! Just cleaned the cobwebs out of the engine compartment!

No they were taken the day you bought it about 2 minutes before you turned up!! Grin

As you know I picked up the old senator the other night and I must say the ride was massively better than the diamond on those 17's. I put them on for the look, which I think was great, but there is no doubt they are at the cost of comfort.

Looks or drivability is going to be the question Keith

Completety forgot about the tyres I saw the back was soft but my pump was broken, completely forgot about it! I'm not used to pumping them up I usually need new ones before they get a chance to go down!

Personally I would put a nice set of Diamond rims back on. I think it would look better on standard rims.
