Monday morning the passenger door mirror was off, dangling by the wires. We put it down to the bin lorry clipping it. Tuesday morning the driver door mirror was off, dangling by the wires. We put it down to teenagers messing around. Tonight around 2125 hours, Paula said that she heard a thud. By the time I got outside, nobody was around. Passenger door mirror was completely off. The casing was on the opposite side of the road, on the grass behind a parked car. Don't know where the glass os. The driver door mirror was hanging by the wires. The outer part, in body colour was off, discarded a few yards up the road. The glass was faced down on the opposite side of the road. I do have spare mirrors, which are off my Diplomat. The only thing I don't have, is the passenger mirror glass. When I bought the car, it was cracked, so I replaced it. We have been here since March 2010 and we don't have nothing to do with anyone. Who or why has done this, we don't know. It has been reported and I got fotos. I am f'cking tamping!!

Both mirrors are heated. Well, were. I guess I had better get the black mirror covers rubbed down and respray them in spectral blue.

Thank you for posting me piccies Day.
Unfortunately no forensics are able to come out, as one muppet has put a hand on the car roof. Also there's mud on the driver's wing. Appears that the driver's one has been kicked off. May be that was the thud Paula heard?
Paula foned the old bill as I ain't got much of a voice, due to laryngitis and a chest infection. Coppers may turn up within 48 hours. Why do I pay tax?

Had mine snapped off , glass broken , more times than i care to remember. Police can't do much unless you have witnesses , BUT they will put it on the crime data base as vehicle crime for your postcode which your insurers will see and increase your premium. so my advice, don't even bother reporting it unless you can prove who done it. (that way the police will then tell them off BUT your insurance will increase )

I agree. A bit of hooliganism here a while back. Broke off a car aerial on a car across the road just after the pub closed. Called the police and they caught them and let them off with a warning. One had the aerial and threw it away when the police arrived. Owner had to pay for the repair and the 'crime' gets listed to my postcode and affects the insurance premiums and resale value of the house!.
So its best not to report crime?.....................And it makes no difference if they catch them!

No, No, That's a very retroactive attitude; you have to try to understand their problems However, I have to admit that if they were properly shot, they wouldn't do it again

I had a similair issue with my old neighbour phoning the scrap (Pikies) to remove spares and putting flyers on my cars asking if I wanted to sell - Sorry Steal them.
His issue was that he said my cars made the area look "Untidy" - Snob !
I fitted CCTV and over night everything stopped.
He still managed to smashed yasmine's windscreen on here Irmscher Senator, by throwing an 'item' from the other side of the fence out of CCTV view.
Now I've moved to a property with electric front gates. If they want to jump over the wall they have a 10ft drop and a tree up there ass.
If they do get lucky and don't get a tree up there ass, the CCTV will pick them up.
What a society we live in !!!

There is a bit of good news. After calming down and looking at the damage, I may be able to salvage the parts, barring the glass. At the moment the black ones are on, off my Diplomat.
Yesterday morning I had to drop me Paula off in Nantgarw and doing it without exterior mirrors wasn't easy. I can miss the interior mirror, but not the exterior mirrors.

Went out to the car and lo and behold the driver's door mirror was hanging off. Pushed the casing back in place. Luckily the glass wasn't broken, just off its locating pegs.

You need to put a CCTV sign iin the windscreen.
Buy a dummy camera from B&Q for £10, the red light in the window will warn them off.

If yours is the only car suffering it sounds like you're being targeted.

That's the thing, why is the car targeted? We haven't upset any one. We have been here two years in March and there's only the two opposite that really speak to us. So why target our car? We're puzzled.

Totally sucks dude, I have often told me friends how I am scared to own a nice car (mint paintwork etc..) as I am scared that scum will damage it. The kids round my area know me as the nutter with the camo car and guns, so they tend to stay away!!
Like others have said, CCTV with a little red light will scare um off as they will fear being identified.

I have often thought about re-locating the flashing alarm LED (located at top of central door piller) to a new location more visible to the low life (newer cars seem to have it on top of dash).
I prefer a slighly tatty car as its less likely to attract jealousy and I probably wont notice the marks made by idiots. I have to park the car out on the public road.
I put "alarm fitted" stickers in the smaller windows of my blue one after the small window on a rear door was broken ten years ago. I suggest you do that.
If its happened more than once then re-locate the car at least for a while. They have got into a habit and you need to help them forget it.
I once came close to a car that said in a polite/firm voice "please keep away from this vehicle". That would be nice. The low life dont know whats watching them !. I wonder how much it cost to set up but this would be my favourite solution. Need something that senses people (maybe an over sensitive vibration sensors) and then some thing that can replay a pre-recorded voice. Someone on this forum could sell a few !.

Fingers crossed, but whoever it was, hasn't done it since. I have managed to salvage the blue shrouds, so it looks better. If you look closely, you can see where I have repaired it. Yes, I could always spray the spare black one to match.

We've had enough of this. I think I have one more passenger side glass. After that its Dartford Carlton Spares, courtesy of Messrs Chris and Day We are in Pontypridd later so we are going to see the housing officer. Paula said she wants to move. Been here two years on St David's day, so just over two years. Bunch of miserable buggers

I can have a video camera, but only on my property, not on the public street. As the car is parked on a public road, I can't have a video camera.
I get what you're saying. It brings me on to the subject of reasonable force. As I get around with walking aids, I am limited. Now if I happened to have an 'object' in my hand and I used it with effect on the guilty party, would that be reasonable force, considering my disability? What if I were to put a 'cap' in their leg and drop them, would that be reasonable force, considering my disability? I am tempted to use a 'piece' and put a 'cap' in their leg/s, should I catch them
