Your wasting your time chaps, the minters aren't for sale, why not get a rough one and spend your 3k on restoring it?

3 to 5k dont care what anybody says or does to their carlton there not one carlton about anywhere worth 4k stg not this era anyways mabey in 3-4 years time In 3-4yrs time, there will only be around 30% of the GSI's left that are left now (Mouth full), going by the current rate of decline. If you have the opportunity to buy now - Do so - Because once they start going up, people by default will not sell. With only 30% left in 3-4years time, buying one to restore will be difficult.

In fact the lad I bought mine off bought it for 1k more than I paid in an ebay battle a few years ago, its not even low mileage. (Low mileage is overrated, a low mileage car can have been neglected and be a right heap, Id always buy on condition with mileage a consideration but not the biggest one.) Ive been offered £4500 and £5000 by two people for mine just over a year ago in less than good financial climate and not sold it, to be fair I didnt see the cash, it was just words, but it gives an idea of what some people may pay for the right car, still got one chaps number and considered calling but decided not to as Id find it hard to replace the car if I regretted it. I have a different view on the remaining numbers though, I think the numbers will stabilise and maybe drop very slowly now, look on how many left.com or whatever its called and you can see it happening now. The reason for this is that in recent years the poor cars have been dropping like flies as less people justify the running and repair cost but the pool of cars remaining includes quite a few really good ones. Some cars are of course still reaching the end of their life but I keep hearing of restorations being completed that make really good cars and offset the numbers of poor ones dieing. Only my opinions

Depends which parts, for some parts there will more left than cars in the future but for others they will become almost impossible to get as low survival rate means remanufacturing wont be worthwhile. If I could find a few chain guides and working digital dashboards in my attic Id be feeling good about parts value but seats and lights, just taking up space.

true bout parts alright but engines will be the biggest problem i think and try finding a head gasket not an easy job but the rough ones in few years time when prices go up an up they will be like the toyota corolla gt coupe weilded up and good hash of fillers and body shot and they will be made out to be minters and them just rotten

Some parts will be an issue, namely 24v guides, but the LC guys will deal with this at some stage I believe.
Other obsolete parts can be raped from other cars and modified in.
Chris - If you need digi dashes I have 3 of them, unsure about back lighting, but this can be fixed.
