3 litre armchair special

« on: January 02, 2012, 06:07:49 PM »

Thought i'd start a thread on my other carlton, bought it from Yasminelee during the summer, had my eye on it for ages what with it being a 24v manual, and as my family needed a car to run around in decided to snap it up Grin

This is how it looked when first bought

Since then i have fitted new numberplates, clear side repeaters, new suspension and 'chocolate wheels' Omega MV6 alloys, you could say i bought the car just to fit the wheels Cheesy

How it looks today

The heart of the beast, 3.0 24v, sweet as a nut and the dual ram works perfectly Smiley

The interior is standard apart from Blaupunkt tape and CD players which i had lying around to fill the gaping holes in the dash

The car was well used over the summer on trips to the seaside etc and it has never let us down, as the barge is off the road for some mot work its become my daily driver for a few weeks.

It does have some faults that need attention, the diff knocks under hard acceleration round corners, i have a spare diff that needs reconditioning so once thats done ill be replacing it, also the heater blower switch only works on full, the aircon doesnt work, few bulbs out in the dash and the N/S/R passenger door needs respraying.

Future plans include fitting an adjustable steering column, cruise control, tinted windows and possibly a digital dash, think it would look perfect with the trip computer and old school digital stereos that it now has,not sure if it was ever an option but i think it will look the part Smiley

Side by side Cool

The knocking noise is more likely to be the rear doughnut bushes in my opinion.

Estate is very tempting but I'm well set on a gsi at the minute. Has to be a manual too. Not quite ready to get anything yet though, still got a few finishing touches to the omega before a new project comes
