This weekend im going to look at a club estate with regards to breaking it for spares, I'm wondering what sort of spec they normally have, are they really that basic?
Ideally I'm after the panels, doors etc, do they have tinted glass/electric windows etc? I'll have to pay scrap value for it so want to maximise the spares.

It's a 2.0 auto in black, I'm hoping it's the same colour as the diamond so if the panels are good i'll have it.
I do have the manifolds off the old goldtop but I'm keeping them for spares as theyre practically extinct now.

On my 1993 club estate:-
Basic SC201 radio cassette Manual sliding roof roof rails electric front windows only Anthracite fabric seats with matching door trims Leather covered steering wheel Rear supension levelling shocks Alloy road wheels (not on L or GL!) Seem to be CD/CDX? No fog lights No headlamp wash No heated washers No electric anything else (big advantage!) No storage nets on front seats No body colour mirrors - grey No plastic sill mouldings Automatic was an option Usual head restraints and split folding rear seat and load cover.
If you need to know anything else................
As a matter of interest the club versions used to be for private buyers only and not fleets and had a different spec with some higher range features but not all, but the first buyer of mine was Shell as an employee car and 2 years later the employee bought it from Shell and owned it until I bought it earlier in the year. So was the idea of the club being private buyers only through the range or was this introduced after 1993. Perhaps fleet buying only appeared after 1993 or Shell got a deal? Thus club cars usually had some items of a higher spec than the GL but not all.
All nice cars. The most reliable cars I ever owned taking them up to 150k. Sadly time has caught up with them. Being 'old school' (and old!) I still think of them as being totally reliable which cannot be the case - can it?
The 1993 catalogue I have lists the cars as Plaza, club,L,GL,CD,CDX,Diamond,Diplomat but you cannot assume the spec is better as you go up the range as the spec is mixed at the lower end until you get to the higher specs when there is a gradual increase in fitments.

Thanks for the man of kent, as you say the spec varies to what the dealer put on to get it out the door, when you say anthracite trim I take it that it'll have a black dashboard?
