Delivered to a chap today who had a 2.6 Omega estate looking sorry for itself outside his house, I enquired and its suffered a HG failure - he will soon scrap it.

I gave him my number and said I will want a few bits off it before that (I could only think of the vented rear calipers off hand).

Is there anything else worth having off it?? What size will the front calipers be?

They should be 296mm same as 24v disks.
I may be in need of the coil pack if poss, pref with a bit of loom.
See if you can get a price?

Sure it's HG failure?

You could get a right bargain here, Mr. A.

HG failure on GM V6 lump is rare - more than likely to be the heat exchanger/oil cooler. Simple enough to fix, or even mod by bypassing the OE one and stick a Mocal 9 row under the bumper and get Pirtek to make the hoses - seemples!

Vented rear discs don't make any difference IMHO - merely a cheap selling pint, although bloody expensive to buy!

The 2.6 and 3.2 have two coil packs (one each cylinder bank) that sit on the plugs.
Earlier ones (2.5 and 3.0) have coil packs - three different ones, random as to which was fitted. I think it depends on the shape of the low voltage plug???

If it's an MV6 and it's gonna get broken, I'll be interested in the springs and dampers, diff, steering box and front seats.

Pretty sure
MV6's are manual unless buyer specifies an auto
Elites are autos unless buyer specifies manual

That's as maybe, but there were a helluva lot of MV6 autos (when I was looking for one a couple of years ago) - more than the manuals, if truth be told!

I did read that the majority of MV6s were auto.

Johnny, what year is it.....pre-facelift?
I might need some body trim parts and maybe some interior bits. I'll have to see what mine is like after the body shop has finished with it.
Mine is a 97 Elite Estate, manual, oil burner.
