That's why it's always best to shop around .
that said... I only ever ask Halfrauds if i need something small / in a hurry.
I got a back box and because it was a day later than they told me it would be delivered, they gave it me at cost £18.
your much better off going to your local factors for parts
oil, redex, screen wash etc are often cheaper at supermarkets l(eg , redex injector cleaner in asda = £4 , factors £7 ,halfrauds £10)
exhaust manifold to downpipe gasket = £2.05 at halfrauds , factors = £1.75 , asda = W T F is a gasket  Huh

I've bought quite a few Halfords own brand tools, and I think they're very good value, but I never buy batteries or oil from there as it seems overpriced to me.

I'd recommend this

Cracking little set to keep in glove box

Used this site a few times "from" £50 for a 2 litre dippy inc vat & next day delivery

even a known make is cheaper then Halfrauds own brand.

then you just need  14mm,15mm,16mm,17mm,18mm,19mm sockets 3/8 ring spanner plus a full set of metric spanners, torx sockets, torx bits , plug wrench, screwdirvers, FBH , and a roll of gaffer tape .
and somewhere to supply replacement sockets etc because the ones in the halfauds set are made of a softer chocolate than the chocolate vauxhall use to make their nuts and bolts . Grin
but for a tenner I guess you can't expect much  Undecided

I went to apply for a trade card in my local halfrauds, but because I no longer work in the trade I was told that I don't qualify for it.

Usually I go in halfrauds when I am feeling down. I have a laugh at their prices and I feel better.

You can get a cheap set of six sided 3/8 impact sockets for not much like these

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-8-DRIVE-IMPACT-SOCKET-SET-8-19mm-METRIC-SOCKETS-/220775177073?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item336739db71

I got something similar and they are decent and rock solid.  Got a Draper wrench to go with them and some impact extensions / adapters seem to get the job done ok.

You can also try the so called "Farmers Markets"

Try not to break down into hysterical laughter until you get back into your car though; some of the stallholders get offended Wink

The main problem I've found with it is the ratchet is CRAP apart from that I use it a lot.
