I had my 24v Carlton on the rollers today,
Results: 214.9bhp/224.8ft-lbs of torque Factory bhp is 204bhp
I am very happy with both the output and the noise from my home brew exhaust (which is the only modification btw), there was silly amounts of smoke which was a combo of overfuelling and totally shot ebay special edition stem seals - which are fixable.

Very impressive, The V.SO. Seals won't make much diffrence to the figures i'd have thought, but what do you expect when the fueling issue is sorted ?

No idea Dave, by design the excess fuel is taking up room in the chamber that should be for air so there is certainly more power to be had.

Great result! Didn't realise an exhaust alone would give those numbers!

I doubt the exhaust has much to do with it, its got no extra bore than the factory system - its just smoother.
I suspect the extra bhp is coming from the lack of cats

Well, that's what I had in mind. I would expect more though Don't know why, I think that's a respectable @ the wheels figure when you consider all the friction of g/box, propshaft, diff, hubs etc.

A bit of shame, didn't realise the loss was that huge on RWD cars. 4WD though, is a different story

The article in the link below reckons that front wheel drive loses about 15% of the engine BHP as transmission losses; rear wheel drive is 17% and 4 wheel drive 22%. http://www.pumaracing.co.uk/POWER3.htm

This why 4wd sucks, the losses are huge. Rwd is twenty million times* more fun and cool than fwd and yet is only a tiny 2% extra loss in power!
*official figure
