Wannabe a lotus someday....

« on: October 25, 2011, 03:16:24 PM »

Hi all,

I was just googling for the millionth time headlights for my ride
until I found this :

So, I immediately emailed the company and they replied :

Sorry,we do not sell sample.our min order is 200 pcs.

 Shocked

I only need 199 more mates!  Cheesy

Here is the link :

They also have similar look turn signal lights & the tail lights of the Chevrolet Omega.

If we can't work something out with them, I'm pretty sure I'll do a retrofit.

Also retrofitting projectors will cause beam pattern issues as the factory headlight glass sets the beam

Correct............but maybe not in all cases  Wink

Mine has Bi Sexuals Xenons and has passed the MOT time and time again and to be honest, my dip beam pattern is pretty much spot on.............although main beam is crap and HID auxiliary main beam isn't really any good either as the ballast packs don't react quick enough, beam pattern is rubbish and they don't like being flicked on and off all the time.

Chop the back of the lamp units out, somehow  fit Calibra projector lights and somehow make a clear headlight 'glass' and that would be a different story as far as the patterns are concerned, but to be 100% legal, you need to fit the levelling system with the HID lights.

Making the glass clear is something I looked into but it would cost too much to replicate so I gave up on that idea.

Could it be vacuum-formed (like Airfix kits)?
I have no idea where to get materials from or what tools you'd need.

air fix are injection moulded.
but you can vacuum form clear plasatic
but if your going to that much trouble / expense  you nmay as well get off the shelf headlamps (closest you can find to carlton ones)and modify to fit the profile
