These rioters and looters that are robbing honest citizens of this country of our civil liberties need dealing with in the strongest possible way if they were wild animals we would have them destroyed!

Amen to that. One of my close friends had his local shop hit tonight in London and is within walking distance of the trouble, another walked out of her front door straight into it. One of my family members is also a Sargent (sp?) in the Tottenham district of the Met Police. I truly hope that the scum causing this trouble get burnt in one of their own fires. It is not fair for this country, which is already crippled from the economic climate, to have to rebuild large parts of London and support families as a result of this. I could almost guarantee that most of the people causing trouble are the lazy, good for nothings that will never contribute anything to this country and will take all of the benefits they can which will just put extra strain on all of the hard working people in this country who are already struggling through.

rather than sorting out prosecutions and more massive expense to the uk, how about a blanket rule of everyone who is caught rioting/looting gets sent to mogadishu in somalia to provide humanitarian aid for two years. The government could give them a few grands worth of food aid each to distribute (insignifcant compared to the cost of prosecution/prison) and a paltry amount of food to survive on - I reckon they might not do it again in a hurry...

Interestingly, if it is officially declared as such then I think there is a clause whereby the state pays for your damages incurred...

Believe it or not at the tender age of 14 (40 years ago) I was out with my Mum and we were talking about the situation in the Middle East (yes, it was going on then as well) and the Russians - I told her then that the greatest threat to our nation would not be from without but from within and it would be our own children who would destroy us...

I had to walk through the affected streets of West Croydon on that day. Surrounded by rioters - about 25% of them had hoods AND cloth over their faces. They should have been shot as unfortunately CCTV is not going to help catch them - its only the idiots that have been caught. The animals that had come prepared have got away with it.

About an hour later it sunk in how stressed I was. By then Reeves was on fire and I could see it from my road - it was the one shown a lot on TV that day. London road was still closed ten days later due to collapsing buildings (demolition ?). If we can shoot a polar bear that turned out to have toothache then surely we are entitled to rid ourselves permanently of these selfish, cowardly thugs.

Unfrtunately because the police have had to be politically correct it is far more likely that law abiding citizens will be tempted to take the law into their own hands. So my advice is dont be tempted to spoil your own future. Schools etc cannot use the cane etc. So we just stand back and let the gangs fill the vacuum. Pathetic politically correct mess.

Have to say I would prefer some proper punishment that hurts. Instead we will spend a fortune keeping them in prison (so they can learn from other criminals) and ensuring they cannot turn over a new leaf because they have a criminal record. They should get a thorough beating instead.

I was not sure that the rioters families should lose their home but then why favour them over the 250 households that have been made homeless by these mindless animals.

I have had two weeks to calm down and I still feel like this.
