Right basically i'm not sure if i want to fit it

main reason being i kind of like the way she looks now with just the spoiler and grille (dont ask 4 pics cos i aint got none yet Sad ), was thinking bout tidyin her up an a few subtle mods and the twin headlights

wat do u think?

for those who dont know she's a green dippy

(pm me if u'd be interested in the kit everything except the spoiler just incase i choose that route)

Hmmm - depends on the quality of said kit, mate. If it's crap quality, it could cost a shedload to have it fitted and looking right, then in a year's time, it may well need sorting out again.

I must say that I really like Matt's rounded arches, and should I build another Carlton, that's probably what I would go for.

I guess what I'm really saying (and I reckon you're thinking along similar lines), is that as good as the Lotus kit looks, it's been done to the death!!

Everything else aside, I personally would'nt fit a Lotus kit until I had the performance to back it up.  Otherwise it's all show & no go. Just my opinion.   Grin

IMO

Get GSI side trim
Get GSI bumpers
Get GSI side skirts & front wing pieces
Fit senator rear arches
Fit the Lotus spoiler

Keep your original colour and repaint the GSI items to match,

Then get some 17s.

I think it'd look good anyway - but I am biased cos that's exactly what I did to mine.
Just imagine my car in your colour then you get the idea.

As Pete says - the lotus kit has been done and done and done - there's nowt special about it anymore.
Agree with Ian too - all show and no go is rather gay... why make it look like something it isn't?
Johnny A is different - he's got the engine to (kinda) match. well, when people see it whizz past and hear the wastegate wooshing, people will think it's the real deal.

thx 4 all the suggestions tbh i'm not bothered bout all show and no go as i'm not really a foot to the floor driver anymore prefer just to cruise

my main doubt with the kit is i dont want a replica i want a nice carlton thats a bit different which is y i dont wanna go down the GSi route either hence the spoiler not being a GSi or Lotus 1

thing is the kit on the lotus looks good and follows the lines of the car well

have been thinking bout the front lotus bumper but leaving the rest ie door mouldings and arches and going 4 different sideskirts and having similar arches on the back to urs matt and prob lotus rear but still undecided  Undecided Undecided Undecided y is being a bit different so complicated lol

an car will deffo stay the same colour

OK - if you want to be different:

You're gonna have to do some cutting and shutting here, but thats the price you pay for originality.

Go for different skirts, maybe from an omega/vectra?
Cut and shut your original bumpers to your own liking? adding vents/smoothing holes etc. even add a splitter from another car like they used to do with the laguna splitter on Novas?
maybe keep the door pods from the lotus kit?
and stick on any spoiler you like and you reckon fits the carlton look...?

I have a PSG LC Rep rear bumper in my garage, mate Wink

How about a Senator B front bumper?

It might fit, not too sure, but looks better than any Carlton bumper ('cept Lotus and Irmscher Evo 500) IMO.

The bumper irons would go straight into the chassis mounts, but the rest might need a bit of "Modder's Ingenuity"!!
Plus, you get indicators and fogs, considering your front wing mod ideas (i.e. getting rid of the indicators), could be worth a shot?

Senny bumper will fit and as Pete says you get indicators and fogs built in

Of course you then need to fill the gaps in where the indicators were but if you fit senny headlights that would sort that out

Trouble is the senny bumper has a bigger dip in the front for the grill but you could fit that too as suggested previously

Damn that would look good  Grin

ke something it isn't?

Unfortunately I have to run a dump valve, would love the compressor stall (wastegate chatter as u might know it by) but unlike the Cossie's garrett turbo the KKK-16 turbo uses a thinner centre bearing spindle and isn't as strong (they did this to get the turbo to spool quicker).

Its a forge dump valve that doesn't much much noise tho. If my turbo gives up and starts smoking I plan to go for a garrett T34 or similar on a custom manifold. There is a chap selling two T3 turbos on MIG at the moment, but they are off a GTR skyline and have ceramic internals.... well tempted by one

If you want to go OTT with your bumpers mate, german ebay has a few options....

Or there was the completely OTT bumper from Carlton designs (?) in Barnsley, where I got my LC spoiler from.

Can't for the life of me remember where I put that receipt with the contact details on it......... Roll Eyes

Maybe you could build a standard Senator bumper up so you could incorporate the Carlton grille?

Thats what my Senny will look like when it gets all the kit I've collected on it

except

- in Rioja

- without the trims on the doors

- Colour coded bumpers

- Full size chip cutter grill with a section of OE senator bumper frenched into the Irmscher front bumper

- Lotus Carlton Spoiler

- Proper irmscher spaces on the rear wheels so it fills the arches

- All silver wheels no polishing (this will amaze some people as they'll assume I'd be blacking them)

- Interior is LC seats front and rear (std senny black door cards)

Not really of any interest on this forum but makes me happy!!

After a bit of looking around, I doubt there would be too much work involved.

Thats what my Senny will look like when it gets all the kit I've collected on it

except

- in Rioja

Cool colour...

- without the trims on the doors

Why? they look great IMO...

- Colour coded bumpers

Are they not colour coded anyway?

- Full size chip cutter grill with a section of OE senator bumper frenched into the Irmscher front bumper

What??? That's just savage! senator grilles are like a wide mouthed frog - they are waaaaay too big that's why Irmscher made them smaller! OK so they're not great quality, but who cares??? if they ain't great, chop an OE one down.... Shocked

- Lotus Carlton Spoiler

Cool - not seen that on a senny in a while Wink

- Proper irmscher spaces on the rear wheels so it fills the arches

Aren't the wheel arches standard size?

Didn't know about this but my wheels look a tad lost in my arches since the senny arch conversion, maybe I need these?

- All silver wheels no polishing (this will amaze some people as they'll assume I'd be blacking them)

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

You're going for a proper wheel colour? what the.....

- Interior is LC seats front and rear (std senny black door cards)

I was gonna buy them once but I still haven't found the money...... Roll Eyes
