24 valves breathing pure heaven into the thing

« on: July 23, 2011, 12:22:13 AM »

It's a sad for us Norwegians today.. Embarrassed

First the bomb blasts in Oslo city, then the massmurderer at Utøya..

Many friends of mine were involved, 3 managed to swim away to safety, one got shot in the back, but survived, but my neighbour and friend is still missing in the water.. Cry

This is a day of horror and sadnes, and all of my prayers goes to the victims and family.

thoughts go out to all our Norwegian friends at such a tragic time we can only pray that the perpetrators of this crime are caught and that this will bring peace and closure to all the families involved.

the ties between Britain and Norway go back a long way and i am sure that most of us feel the horror and disgust that your fellow countrymen are feeling at the moment.

we hope the victims can rest in peace

It's really nice to see you're caring. It's a pretty hard time right now Embarrassed

Haven't heard from my friend yet, nobody has. Chances that she's still alive are rather small, but I still hope.

I have just been reading all about this in the news. I must admit, I was amazed when I read it all as I worked for many a year for a Norway based company and found every one laid back and relaxed. For 1 person to do this to so many people in a cold hearted way is beyond words.

Thoughts go to your friends and all involved.

I was shocked and stunned by one man's actions.

Our thoughts are with the Norwegians at their time of loss.

Våre tanker og bønner er med dere alle, spesielt familier, i denne triste tiden, Cosmo D.

My local town arranged a memory selection downtown this evening. It lives appr. 25 000 here, and 5000 came to show their love and solidarity. Never has so many people gathered in this town.

Afterwords, everyone laid down their roses and lights.

We have this sort of thing here in the U.K. when a useless, selfish, drug abusing waste of space passes away.

Kind of puts it into perspective the way different countries and societies show 'respect'.

Nearly one hundred innocent people lost their lives in your country through the actions of another person; over here, a person dies due to their lack of respect for themselves or their friends/family/loved ones and they get treated as an icon.

For the record, when I came to the article in the newspaper about Amy Winehouse I skipped the page. When I came to the article about the killings in Norway I read about the event and tried to figure out what drives a person to do such a thing.

You have my respect for the way your nation has dealt with this tragedy as I turn my cheek and often despair at the way our nation deals with ours.

I still don't really know what to say about the whole sad affair. My first thought when I saw the news late Friday evening was that Norway just isn't the country you'd expect a bomb blast or murderous rampage. I honestly thought that some terrorist cell had seen it as a soft target and gone for shock factor. To find it was one derranged individual was even worse. I hope that the families of the victims and the survivors themselves are able to take some comfort in seeing how their fellow countrymen reacted and rallied together to show their overwhelming support and defiance to such an event.

As Catho said, the public in this country make heros of dead beats and I am fiercely proud of being English, but this part of our culture makes me sick to the core and I can offer absolutely no explanation at all. If I mention Raul Moat and the apparent hero worshipping he got then I needn't explain more.

I hope the people of Norway are able to overcome this tragedy. With the show of strength displayed I have absolutely no doubt that they will.

My thoughts go out to each and every person affected by this whole sorry chapter.

I agree 100%,i was insulted that less than 24 hr after this awlful event took place, the head line on the news was Amy Winhouse dies, who was a drug addicted boozer who in my eyes couldnt sing!
Cosmo in these these dark days i would be proud to fly the flag for Norway, the people have shown nothing but respect for the fallen

I was horrified and deeply affected by what happened in Norway. I have special connections there from my time in the forces and I got to know many people over there, some of which I have stayed in touch with ever since.

I really didn't know what to say about the whole thing and it has taken me this long to even be able to put something down here in support of our Norwegian friends.

My thoughts are with all the families, still. This will not be forgotten by myself and other members of our forces that served over there.
There has been a huge display of support on various ex forces forums as well as present day serving members who have had the opportunity to visit such a wonderful country.
