Sadly not - I've been snowed under at work! Very frustrating to see so much good work going on in the forum and I just have to watch at lunchtime and once I've put the kids to bed. The 2.6 diplomat also has it's valve lifters soaking in thinners on the kitchen window ledge. It's rather like Steptoe's yard!

How's the restore going? I owned this car a few years ago, barn find with only 35k on the clock. Had a few issues which I sorted, really good car though.

That's very interesting

I am almost ready to start again. I was hoping that some new ones would appear but no such luck!

The mileage is genuine at 43k then?
What issues did you sort?
Was the paintwork ok when you had it?
When it's life did it have the first bit of bodywork done? (Stonechip shield on bottom of sills, front and wings)
Have you had trouble with rough idle?
Any idea what happened to the rear seatbelts - all the fittings seem to be there?

Defo correct mileage, had all the old MOTs but somehow mislaid them when I sold it on. Think it was in a barn for about 10 years, family couldn't let it go after owner passed away. Paid £600 for it, sold on for £500 a couple of years after I bought a Royale.

Had to fit new brake pads all round, brake master cylinder, viscous fan and a complete service. Bodywork was great, no sign of the damage you inherited, just the odd tiny bubble on the wings. No idea about the bodywork history you mention. Engine was sweet during the time I had it. I did add one rear seat belt for a baby seat, but think I put it in the Royale.

Having upgraded to an Omega, the lure of these great cars saw me buy another Viceroy before Xmas!

Thanks

If you ever find the MOTs, please let me know. I paid £480, if I recall and the owner said he'd paid the same. I recon the hunting is a carb that needs cleaning. 160psi across all cylinders so no prob there.

Was the new Viceroy the gold one from Kempston? Facelift auto with alloys?

There's a lot on eBay.de that don't/won't post outside Germany. I've encountered that several times when purchasing Borussia Dortmund memorabilia.
