I am failing to see why you think the engine won't last long!?!?

If we assume its in good condition and the cooling system can handle prolonged high load conditions I don't see why anything would happen.

IF it's in good condition, ofc. it could be fine. But if it's in normal condition, the chain would probably snap sooner or later.

If it's a 24v yeah I totally agree with you, for example my 24v was recently rebuilt to take silly levels of abuse. It has 100K on it and the bottom sprocket had a lot of wear... and the guides were on the verge of collapse.

If this guys engine was in a similar state which is likely if it's not been rebuilt then yeah it could blow at any time
