I've decided to vote yes: You are not bound to express more than one vote so it adds flexibility.

Many in the 'Major' parties like the first past the post idea because it gives them total power to do whatever they want once they've conned their way in with only 30% of the vote.

One of the arguments used against AV is that it will lead to more hung/coalition parliaments.
I rather like a coalition government Smiley at least it makes things a LITTLE more representative of the electorate.

The AV vote gets 32% and is overwhelmingly rejected..............the tories get 35% in the general election and get to run the country for 5 years. Thats the case for AV in a nutshell Wink

Wrong - the jolly fine Tories and the wishy-washy Lib-Dems forged a Coalition and run the country together.
The wishy-washies could have sparked an alliance with that shower of sh!te Labour party, and then we really would be in the brown stuff.

As soon as the Tories can unshackle themselves from the wishy washies, the better.
