failed mot on rust on seals and one leaking rear shock,car otherwise solid so im told.am determined to get the car back on the road,i think im in for a long prodject.i have met an independant mechanic who also welds and sprays he has had a look say he can cut out dead metal replace and weld seals,same with rear arches waxoil everything up in side arches and spray finish.im a driving instructor and am teaching his son to drive so should be trustworthy.he does a bit of work for people in the skoda owners club.he quoted me £500 to do both sides,have put some pics on what do ya all reckon

as long as he does the inner strengthener as well not too bad well worth it if the rest is solid but ask him to wax themas well as the rear dog legs in the deal!! Dont ask dont get!

thanks for the advice,think i will do it car drives like a dream has 125000 on the clock and i have every mot certificate going back to 94.done 1000 miles in it before being sorn no loss of any fluids or overheating even driving through london.have to save up some more cash so will take me a while but reckon it should be eorth it in the end

I wish the tinworm on mine was like yours. Unfortunately mine is worse and it ain't just a sill, hence I'm breaking it.

cheers guys dont suppose you have any sills for sale,my guy said he can source them but just check on here first.sorry to hear about the car you have to break mate,its a shame have only seen 1 other carlton since i got mine in january
