I’m trying to get planning permission to extend my garage allowing me to park most of my cars undercover in a dry arena.

I have a snob of a Neighbour who believes he dictates everything that goes on in the area.

If my cars were Ferraris, Porsches or BMW etc he would not have an issue. Because I have Modern Classic cars (2 Carlton GSI’s, a Diamond and 3 Classic mini's) he treats the cars as an eyesore to the area.

Add this to the fact he threatened to have my cars removed by the Council, along with having parts stolen – Which he also threatened to do – just adds to my distrust of him.

I’ve had two planning applications destroyed by him going round winding people up, lying, getting people to submit untrue objections, most of which he writes on there behalf.

Now, I’d like to ask members if they would write to Rother Council’s Planning Department saying how important it is to preserve Classic vehicles for future generations and the only real way of doing this is to store them undercover in a dry environment.

I’ll post details of the application soon, but how many members would be willing to help me ?

Have you not looked at what your allowed to build without planning permission ?
Is it a conservation area or any other restrictions ?
you could look at temporary structures (with a plastic /polycarb roof)
these don't require planning or br approval if sited away from boundrys and highways.
failing that, talk to the council and ask what you can have ,before any more planning applications.
as reguards "modern clasics" the council will just see them as scrap metal unless they are taxed, moted  Cry sorry but that's just how it is in my experience.

The garage will be next to the highway, but nothing different to what other people down my road have already.

The only different being this will be connected to the house as its an extension to the existing garage on the front of the house.

Last time round the planning office said this was of no significence, unfortunately the planning committee disagreed.

Do the planning committee instead of the neighbour then Grin

Sorry can't be more helpful, just trying to raise the brevity a bit.
Did the planning committee ever give a bona fide reason to turn this down apart from a neighbours gripes?

Could you temporarily "reform" and store the vehicles somewhere else for a few months, lure them all into a false sense of security, get planning, build, and then move them all back home, love to see your neighbours face, especially if you can get them all driven home in a cavalcade. Grin Grin
