Personally I prefer the older Vauxhall Griffin badges. The new doesn't do it for me.

Still, cool artwork though.

Yeah, I know what you're saying, it was always going to divide opinion.

I thought I'd struggle to get an original badge (like I'm struggling with everything else!!) so thought I'd have a go a doing my own......still got to see what it looks like on the bonnet yet  Undecided

True, but I have a 2.6 CDX and a 2.0 Diplomat.
The designs so far are for a 3.0 CDX and a 2.6 Diplomat.

For preference  I would have them without the engine size included. Smiley

I'm just doing mine as we speak, afraid there's a bit more to it than that.

I'll put a post on here with photos when I've done mine (and I'm happy with it)

You could stick it straight on top if you cover the original badge with something silver/mirrored, but as my original logo was missing I've had to repaint the backing plate.

I'll do a 'how-to' post later today/tomorrow.

Watch this space.

I've finished applying the decal of my new Vauxhall Logo to the back plate of my old badge.

I'm very happy with it, so here is how I did it...

The old logo had come off so all that was left was the back plate. There is a small indentation in the centre of the plate so I had to fill this with a small amount of stopper (much the same as you would with a small dent in a body panel)...

I then flatted this level with some fine wet & dry flatting paper...

I then 'keyed' the rest of the badge with flatting paper and give it a few coats of high build primer...

I decided to use a 'chrome effect' silver paint for the back plate, this would make the black of the logo stand out...

A quick 'key' of the primer and few coats of silver paint makes the badge look like new...

Now comes the tricky part. Carefully remove the backing paper from the new logo decal, and position the centre of it over the centre of the backing plate (below is a picture of the logo, the red dot denotes the centre of the decal)...

Once happy with the position of the decal I gently warmed it up with a hairdryer, this softens the plastic and makes it more pliable. When it's like this gently rub the decal onto the backing plate working from the centre out to the edges.

Once it's cooled the logo sets to the shape/contour of the backing plate without distortion to the design due to its 'memory'.

Hey presto!! One bonnet badge....done  Grin

Just got to get my bonnet painted and fitted to the car and the new badge can be applied!!

Alternatively, all of the above can be done without taking the old logo off. Just paint over the existing logo and simply apply the new decal over the top in the same way a shown above.
