The faith has finally been restored!!

« on: March 30, 2011, 11:53:28 AM »

Just been toying with the idea of updating the design of the Griffin logo for the bonnet badge of the Gsi....

I can make this at work, but not sure if I should stick with the original 'square' Griffin. The original logo has since been discarded and I'm left with the backplate of the badge which I can put a new logo on.

Just fancied having something a little different.

This is my idea.....

What are you going to do, send the designs to that Heko place and get them made up that way or DIY?

Just asking out of curiosity......

I've a friend who's in the process of printing the logo on film at the minute, firstly I want to see the quality of it before I go any further. Looks okay on screen, but limited printing processing can affect the finished product.

Then I've got the unenviable task of applying it to the backing plate...which won't be easy as the plate is convexed across and around it, and a flat circular sticker needs manipulating to make it fit (relief cuts, warming it up etc...) Imagine it like putting a large flat round sticker on top of a motorbike helmet, when you go to rub the edges down they 'kick out' and ruffle up.

Once I've seen if it can be done and it looks okay, I'll start taking orders.... Wink

Had badges delivered today, and I'm very impressed.

Just got to see how they look when I've applied it to the badge plate.

Got about 20 of the Carlton Gsi3000 12v (just incase I mess the first few up).

Also, as I had a few requests for other designs (don't know how serious people were) I've made some up.

Anyway, photos....

Badge as it comes on backing paper...

Applied to a mirrored substrate, (this shows through the clear transfer) and what I'll be using on my badge...

Other designs...
