Its quite common to find unused wiring & connectors in wiring looms for extra components not fitted. Is there a wiring connection under the seat and in the instrument panel for heated seats and switches? i.e. can you easily install heated seats to a low spec car by just plugging in?

Yes the wiring is underneath the front seats and Yes the far two left switch controls (they are on the GSI models)

As far as I know the internal looms were pretty much std on all cars.

Not all but most.
I had a Plaza that had no wiring connections for fron fogs in the cabin!
Also some carltons had the heated seat switches on the right where the aircon switches would be.

My GLi has them (although it says Plaza on the V5), once I put the Senny seats in I was able to fit the switches in the centre console and hey ho - heated seats, work a treat too... Grin

If your car has air con the switches are on the left,if theres no air con its on the right where the air con switches would have been.

My GL had the wires under the carpet too, when i got a CDX interior off Murph (Cheers mate) with heated seats, iv plugged them in, but dont know if they work as i aintdone the switches yet, but from what i hear from other people i hear they do all work.

I think vx fitted every carlton with a loom for all the extras, its just if you didnt have the extras, they just didnt plug in the appliance, but all the wiring is all there, even the sunroof iirc, if you have the manual, the earthing etc is under the manual toggle ready to be fitted with the elec motor, i may be wrong.....haha

my senny has manual windows being ex-plod, but there is wiring there behind the doorcard for a elec motor to be fitted for the elec windows.. which is something i think i may have to do now, the ever so slightly lightweight of the manuals 'aint' outswaying the hassel of them.. ha ha

When i bought the diamond i switched on the heated seats that were advertised as working great and got nothing....  Thought i had been done.    But got home and discovered the wiring was disconnected under each seat ??

Guessing because he was trying to trace the fault in the window electrics that turned out to be a faulty motor....

There was sooooo much undone and "spare" screws on the carpet,

Oh and my switches are on the right closest to the steering wheel.

No aircon cos some b*stard was too tight to pay for it haha..... Cheesy

Thanks for that. More than likely the wiring is under the seat and in the dash. Might fit my CDX heated seats in the club although the club seat material is quite warm feeling. The club has neither air con or heated seat switches so presumably I can fit them either side.

Wonder if heated seats was an option on the club and perhaps also air con.

If there is no air con the wiring is on the right hand side there will be nothing behind the blanks on the left side.all you have to do is pull out the blanks and fit the switches.
