Another one to add to the list haha

Used the car today.   came home and tried to lock it....   It locked,  Then popped back up.   Then locked then popped back up.  Over and over again.....

I allways lock it at just a slight turn so the alarm isnt on as i dont trust old alarms.

But i ended up having to lock from the pass side as the drivers on packed up alltogether after about 10 attempts....
The lock has been getting progressivly stiffer though,  And theres slight play in the whole handle...(as in movement between it and the door)

Any ideas guys?   Dont want it having a funny 5 mins with the alarm or unlocking itself when some chavs walk past lol..... Cheesy

Best bet will be to soak the lock mechanism in WD40.
You'll need to get it out of the door to do it properly but it cured an identical problem on Jimmy's senny.

mine does this sometimes, found it was pass door sticking,if you push pass door lock down fully before getting out and locking drivers door, mine doesnt do it now, mind you i also went mad with spray 3 in 1 oil on pass lock+mechanism seems cured now! your loose outer door handle is a simple fix you need to get a spring clamp off another carlton +remove door card +slide it off the rear of door handle inside door with a screw driver, the clamps get tired and then you get that sensation when opening door,i took one off a rear door in the basement ive got to go on one day, only takes half hour to do including taking the door card off and on!!

Oh another doorcard off job then haha.   Ah well ,  gives me an excuse to get the elec mirrors plugged back in.  I forgot last time it was off sorting the window motor....

Any idea if me using proper 3in1 style or thicker oil rather than wd40 causes any problems?   The bits i need to oil arnt going to let oil run into any circuitry are they?  lol...    Just end up with more problems....

yeh, now the carlton does it now! ha ha

only coz the front passenger door doesnt quite raise fully when unlocking (dont unlock) so i have to lean over and pull it up the rest of the way, soo.... when i do that and then get out and lock it again, the locks  pop back up straight after, coz that passenger door knob is wedged and doesnt fully drop.

sooo..... think il be drenching that side with wd40... ha ha
