ho hum....

Spent ages getting the headlight washers working right.   Now it seems that if my lights are on,   My windscreen washers are realy lazy and only just touch the screen.

This has only just occured.   Since fixing them months ago its been fine.....

Any ideas?

Im guessing theres a cracked line somewhere maybe?    after the freeze.....

Which of the pumps in the res are for the headlights?   Thinkin of disconnecting it so less of a drain if that migth be the cause?

  Tongue

If the lights are off (and therefor the headlight washers) its fine and they hit the middle of view perfectly...

check the filters first

if that dosent work then looking at the washer bottle you should see three electrical units un-plug the first one and that should sort your problem out!

headlight washers share the same pump as the windscreen and controlled via the solinoid next to the pump(s)

aHHHHHH  guessing im gonna have to have a fiddle with these then... Id like to get it pumping properlly again.  One thing that crossed my mind is that the pump might be a bit worn out. Or have a dodgy connection.   Thinking about relaying it direct ..?

After testing it to make sure its all clear and seeing what sorta voltage im getting at the pump of course.

Cheers guys and gals Wink    Grin

What El Colonel said ^^^^
Using certain windscreen washer additives can leave a sticky gungy deposit that coagulates in the filter.
Pull out pump/s and clean under running tap - ten minute job, tops.

TBH its just the paint in places that lets it down.    Its still a clean car for its age.  But could be better   Cheesy

As for the washers. Im going to have  crack on with this tommorow.  As well as giving it a well deserved hoover out and wash.

I disconnected the pump the other day which immediatly improved the window washers.   But now the headlight ones go a bit loopy  Cheesy  They both go.   Then ones stops.,   Then goes again as the other stops  Then nothing haha
