You cant alter the ignition timing by moving the distributer, or anything else, the management looks after it.

The timing suggested above it the valve timing, maybe wrong due to not assembling the engine properly, if its been slow since the engine rebuild then maybe thats it.

ahhhh, can i check this with a timing gun or is ther another way you have to check it ?

You could remove the small top cover at the front, turn the engine to TDC on number 1 cylinder and then make sure the arrows on the cam sprockets are horizontal and are pointing directly at each other and that the rotor arm is pointing to the notch on the dizzy body.
