I know "Johnny A" told Carlton_Mad about these and he told myself.

I've bought a set and thought it good to post what they look like in the "flesh"

They are 70mm wide by 50mm tall.  The big fat washer is threaded.

Are they any good? I was gonna fit some land rover mounts on mine if the new OEM engine mounts break.

They look very good.

Going to fit them on the 24v at the weekend.

How much were they? I dont want to spend a lot as i've got the V8 to fit next year and that will be on a motor plate.

Looks pretty much the same

They are different in that the Ireland Engineering ones are one unit, where Flow Flex ones are spaced with a washer.

Not sure if there is any real difference in the way they will perform.

Failing to see how a washer will effect things

I have no idea, just saying what's different.

It could be that Flow Flex produce a standard mount and then adjust with the spacer to suit.

Fitted the Poly mounts on the 24v today.

Engine is solid.  When you rev the engine, it moves a few mm, but that's all.

When your in the car, on tick over its fine, but when you rev it, the passenger side of the car rolls towards the drivers side, but no more then usual.

Gonna buy a pair of those. The car should rock that way when you rev the engine it's just the torque reaction. If you look at most drag cars they're LHD as they're running so much torque it pulls the front left wheel up on the line so the weight of the driver helps stop it. It's even been know for some racers to strap big lead weights onto the front left chassis to keep it down.

If you phoned Floflex and asked for Ireland Engineering Mounts, no wonder you were told they did not supply them.

BMW E30 Engine mounts is what you should ask for.

That's a real shame if they've stopped making them and very good that I bought a set for all my cars 6 months ago.

The trouble with buying from outside the EU is import tax, plus the couriers admin charge just for good will.

Search the web, there's got to be someone.

Can't remember who it was - Think it was an ABS member.

The engine does sit at the right height.

You have to modify the heat shield, but its easy.
