Right a plan is in place, won't release more details until I have the car as you never know what can happen.
I am looking at parts I will no longer need, plenty of good parts here for c30se lovers including one off parts. 8kg single mass flywheel with c20let friction plate Excellent condition R25-28 manual box with 40% short shifter
Exhaust package for c30se estates only: Heavily modified c30se downpipe which raises it by 4 inches for ground clearance (2.5" mandrel bent mild steel) Modified chassis brace and gearbox mount to accommodate raised downpipe 3" connecting flange to mid-section 2.5" mandrel bent mild steel pipe hugs the tunnel and around the diff (no cat or mid-box) Very large (comparable to factory 24v BB) straight through tailbox made by Jetex/Simonz exits into a twin inward rolled 3" tailpipe *The backbox requires chassis mods, the rear of the system is fully bolt on bolt off. If you prefer the backbox could be redesigned for a car that doesn't run a large suspension drop* This exhaust was the only modification to the engine which produced 10.9bhp over standard!!
The c30se engine itself: Undecided about this one, spec: Factory standard engine bar Peter harrison 30% uprated chains, uncracked guides, an unworn bottom chain sprocket A skimmed, pressure tested, slightly ported and chemically bathed cylinder head (needs new stem seals tho) Custom modified sump and pickup pipe - will never catch on speedbumps etc... Had new CTS and lamda only 10K ago Made 214.9bhp and 224.8ft-lbs of torque on the rollers a month ago (graph to prove)
Sell engine as a whole? or break it for parts?

Interesting, After very little deliberation I have also decided to remove the 24v motor. I have the replacement motor and gearbox ready and waiting for spring 2012.
I'm going to turn my short block into a garden feature, so my girlfriend can plant flowers in each cylinder.

Right peoples here is the battle plan, read carefully as I type this - only once. The estate is the daily driver so it needs to be powerful but economical, so the 350bhp 2.0 16v Turbo engine from the Lotus is being transfered to the estate. This is happening at the moment, currently she looks thus: So what about the Lotus?? Well i've bought this: Its a Toyota Aristo V300 Vertex, basically a JDM import Lexus GS300 but it comes with the Mk4 Supra 3.0 Twin turbo engine!! This car is being a donar for the Lotus, should have around the 500bhp mark.

Both should be truly awesome when done. That'll be a nice daily and should shock a few people at the lights! 500bhp.... I love it...

Update: C30SE is out of estate Z20LET is out of Lotus C20LET is out of Nova C30SE undercover awaiting stripping Z20LET freshly out of the Lotus Big turbo, external wastegate, no worries Empty estate bay I had a great idea today too, as we know the GSi's have a shorter turn lock to lock. So I decided to nick the GSi steering box from the Lotus and install it into the estate (don't worry the Lotus is getting a rack and pinion setup). BUT the steering arm/idlers on the 2.0 are about 1/2 inch longer, the extra length reduces lock to lock turns.... so Unbolt the 2.0 arm/idler and attach them to the GSi steering box, combining the two gives me the shortest turns possible! Not bad for a freebie!!!

forgot to add, the reason the C20LET has been removed from the Nova is that the Nova's R25-28 box has a cable clutch whereas the Lotus used a hydraulic one.
Why not use the hydraulic setup in the estate?? Well yes I could however there is an issue that arose with the clutch. The clutch is a 6-paddle motorsport clutch, my friend had an identical one made for his Astra turbo (which uses a hydraulic clutch). Ever since then he had an issue - the clutch is too light.... seriously you can push the clutch down with your thumb!! This makes pulling from a standstill a nightmare!!! As we know a hydraulic clutch is always going to be lighter than a cable clutch so I opted to use a cable clutch in the vein attempt to create enough resistance on the clutch pedal!!!

Today saw a little work, I seperated the other steering arm from the box, took 45 minutes with a blow torch and a lump hammer!!! I also removed the S6 subframe, all the steering gear and arms. I am happy to say the prototype poly bushes are still perfect... just dirty. I fitted the cable gearbox and found the lug for the cable was fouled by the Omega sump, so a little tweaking and it all fits now: The shifter was made along time ago, its a short shifter (obviously) but the knob is a modified Corsa-C item which I like a lot and feels good to grip.

Therefore a 1.0 Micra could win

I fitted my HKS Fuel Cut Defencer to the Aristo, AdamH joined me to help out. We found out it already has an FCD... but it doesn't work!! The HKS was wired in 10 minutes and works great! 1.2 bar really makes me shit myself!!! Adam will vouch for this! Got a little more work done on the estate too, the battery tray needs to be removed. First I drilled the spot welds out: The a slight bit of pursausion: After a quick going over with a flappy paddle wheel: The underside of the old tray is pretty rotton: The ABS pump will sit around this area, you can see the original position as the cradle is still in place: With the cradle removed I left the old brake fluid to drain overnight.

Stuff I did on sunday: Not much really lol I fixed my welder for all of 2 seconds before the Gas ran out!!! I did manage to weld the ABS cradle in place, fit the new subframe, GSi steering box and longer arms (shorter turns lock to lock and lighter steering), steering arms and the power steering pipes. Next weekend things to do: Modify the lower chassis rails for extra clearance (they both have massive dents in from previous 'beaching' situations) Paint engine bay Fit engine onto mounts

This weekend's fun: First off Adam and I cleared some room and moved the Nova out of Bay 1, then Adam's Astra was moved in for repairs. Adam got on ripping his car apart and I got on with my engine work. Now goodies had arrived so I fitted one, a heatproof sleeve for the turbo oil return: Silicone hose setup, the small pipe is for the recirculating dump valve: My focus didn't weaver for a second! New battery tray goes in place of the original airbox: All the brake pipes have been heated, straightened, re-bent and painted. I couldn't get them perfectly straight but you won't be able to see them once everything is in place I also tweaked the PAS pipes for a better fit and bolted them up The Z20LET was fitted with the oil temp sensor from the old 3.0 lump Lining the engine up to go in, I used my tried and tested 3 ratchet strap method - One large one at the centre front and two smaller ratchets on either side at the rear of the engine. This allows me to tilt and rotate the engine for a smooth and scratch free fitment and there we are! Tiny engine compared to the 3.0 boat anchor, look how much room up front!! I have more clearance than I thought i'd have in this corner too! That's all till next week!
