Taking her in on Thursday for MoT, will probably fail on rear brakes and the holes in the ends of the sills at the back but it's the stuff that I don't know about that worries me lol, will keep you posted. Gaz.

Cheers mate, I've never used this mechanic before but he comes highly recommended so we shall see what it's going to cost and go from there.

Highly recommended usually means 'expensive' and a tightarse, but good luck all the same Smiley

No advisories!  Grin She's not done too badly considering she's been laid up for one year and the last time she was tested was about 5 months previous to that.

That doesn't sound bad make sure they weld it properly though not just patch over the rust.

Got her back. Not sure what I'm going to do though, whether to keep her or what. The trouble is that i'm back studying now and the weather is going to deteriorate as well, the main thing that needs doing is the underseal which i'm going to try and do asap. Gaz.

You should also Waxoyl inside (sills, box sections, etc...) and outside (floorpans, wheelarches, etc...) too of you want to give your Carlton a fighting chance against the old tim worm mate!

Don't know what they have done to this new breed of Waxoyl though to make it environmentally friendly but it washes off in the rain now a days. Every Carlton or Senator owner should Waxoyl the bollocks out of their cars a minimum of every two years at least. I know its getting expensive to buy Waxoyl but its a shame that most owners don't do this treatment, maybe this is why the old Carlton or Senator is getting to be such a rare sight on our roads....
