I know its similar to the post below but didn't want to threadjack  Wink...

The trim strip that runs along the side of a Carlton (bearing in mind mine is a facelift GL), if this is removed im presuming it leaves holes behind all the way around?

On a facelift it will leave little raised rivet type things that can be ground off.

Yes there's also a 2 inch wide recess in the doors and the wing... They are not too hard to remove I have used a trim removal tool which is basically a bent flat piece of metal. You might brake the odd clip or 2 but I'm sure some members have spares. I do.

i was pondering on that idea too, but i was dreading what is under my arch trims.... Rust doya think??(sarcasim much?)....

Once they're removed the doors etc look quite good without them. However it looks daft where the trim continues around the bumper.

Yeah there probably will be some rust under the arch trims but it can be repaired.

Just remember that the arch trims are not clipped on they have 3 or 4 plastic nuts on the inside.
