I've got a Pipercross sealed induction kit off my 2 litre if you want one of those. Its not very loud but with a good cold air feed seemed to pep it up a bit.

Matt

Awesome! how much you looking for it?? will handle a larger engine as appose to just a 2.0, ie: a 24V ??

I dunno. It's for a 2.2 Vectra originally. Will get some pics.

cone filters rob power even if you can get some cold air to it (not that easy in the senny/carlton bay) itll end up using more fuel cos you will end up blatting it to hear the induction roar!

been there done that with pancake filters on tincornas and grandadas

the general concensus is panel filter in the airbox works best!!

It only robs power if it is sucking warm air in. The Pipercross has a sealed inlet, which is why I had the vent in my wing as it was directly connected to it so only sucked cold air in.

I suspect that the entire length of the original induction system is carefully tuned to provide a ram effect Undecided

The dual ram valve is there to re-tune the system from 4000 rpm because the inlet ram effect is becoming untuned at high revs.

Let's face it, it would have been cheaper to feed the air intake system from an underwing vent rather than the relatively complex long pipe system that is standard !

The Helmholtz effect is what the designers would have been aiming for; it's not just a whimsical design, even that curious piece of the pipework across my cam cover which carries the Vauxhall (or Opel) logo is referred to as the 'resonator'.

Here's a fair description of the intake manifold Helmholtz effect Wink
