That looks really sweet Ian, one of the nicer colours too!!

The ride height set up looks exactly as my Senator did with it's "heavy duty" springs on the back.  Couldn't stand it like that (although it did ride very well!) so took them off & replaced with a good 2nd hand pair from another Senator.  Sits's just right now!!

Black Gsi 24V

Now missing engine and gearbox. loom, ECU, Front brakes, discs, propshaft and exhaust - the car was rotten everywhere and engine has gone to make a 12V Lotus replica a 24V lotus replica

Good interior (early style) and thats about it left - going to the scrappers shortly

Update time

Had it's first run to Mimms this weekend - and as any of the club members on here will testify it was faily loaded down there and back - ran like a dream and actually rode better with a load in it. Fuel consumption is very high 30's maybe even 40 on a run seems to sip it compared to my other Carltons and Senators

There - Two fully refurbed and ported 24V head, 5 Monza alloy wheels, brake calipers, Estate load liner - Irmscher Grill and headlights - loads of other stuff too!!!

Back - three 24V Cyl heads and a R25/28 gearbox, flywheel and various headlights indicators and fog lights in the boot - to say nothing of a complete grey leather interior from Matt in the back seats (Thanks Matt - chuffed to say the least)

Anyway back on track - got home from Mimms and swapped the interior out in about 30 mins so now it's a 2.0 GLi with full leather......

Next target areas

- Get the seat heaters wired up and working - the wires are in the footwells under the seats - just got to find the connectors that should be in the dash - well would be if it was a senny without them but not 100% sure in the case of a lower spec Carlton

- Headlight replacement - CDX or GSi with pencil beams - Got em already Grin but really surprised how good the headlights are without them!!

- Rear springs (I know it looked right at Mimms but that was cos it was full) - Got em already Grin

- Set of 10 Spoke GSi Rims I reckon would look nice - Got em already Grin

- Set of Dippy Door cards for a grey one - If I can find a set (keep and eye out guys don't want to pay too much for em but it would get rid of the grey heringbone on the door cars which looks OK but not perfect)

- Electric Sunroof conversion - Got Bits already  Grin

- need a new cubby hole/armrest cover - no bloody hinges left on this one!!!

Not using it myself as I've lent it to a mate who has car trouble - but bonus is I get a chauffeur!!

Not as much a bargain as these

Clicky

Was gonna put GSi 24V 10 spokes on it but when you get the offer of 4 alloys for 99p plus your steel rims and trims and it keeps it looking OE

who the hell am I to argue with that  Grin

Bugger to clean tho....

Glad you're chuffed with the leather mate - also glad it's gone to a good home instead of sitting on a high shelf for the rest of it's life.... Wink

It was one of the best sets I've seen in a long time and not bad considering it's been in at least 3 cars now!

And just think - if youd've gone for the black set from Craig you'd be kicking yourself now cos you'd have to change EVERYTHING including the dash.... cos I know how much of a perfectionist you are - like me Wink

Just can't understand why you want the dippy door cards - CDX ones would be much nicer......
Dippy cards are just vinyl, no cloth on them at all.... CDX have the cloth bits just about the handle and on the bottom pocket.... would look great with those seats - IMHO. Grin

You've got too much to do as it is Ian - Monza 24v, Irmscher senny, everyone elses cars, millions of ported heads.... Just use the blue one as a runaround! Why put a new dash in it if you're only gonna use it to kart stuff around....... You've got nice seats, nice wheels and you should have a warm arse soon. And for not much work too - if youd've gone for the black set you'd be changing carpets, centre colsoles, parcel shelves, side sills, the dash, etc etc...... besides, it looks better in grey leather - it suits the colour IMO.

Anyway.... Yep, Dippys only have vinyl door cards as they wanted to keep with the smooth leather feel. CDXs had a nice cloth interior and the door cards to match. much nicer IMO.  My mate had a 2.0 diplomat and that was the only thing he disliked.
