On my car, all the splitters, skirts, wing mirrors and certain trimmings are a sexy grandad grey, so i got thinking of a spray up, i was thinking colour codeing some of them, but as they all play the same part, i was thinking black. im cool on 'how to', but wat kinder black spray to use and weather or not to spray over the chrome trimming as well..... these are the bits i wish to spray: Front 3qtr view: Rear: spray over or do away with the chrome Coz if i do away with the chrome front and rear, what will the side trims on the door and over the rear arches look like?? so shall i do away with them or sparay over them and sparay over the door trimmings? But my question again is: What kinda texture spray paint to use? I know i want 'Jet black' or Matte Black your thoughts and answers please

All of the trim you've pointed out should be black already Jimmy, they're just faded, have you tried restoreing them as suggested on your other thread? Would be alot easier
The wing mirrors I would paint body coloured, maybe do the same with the chrome if you fancy a change?

yeh i have tryed restoring them with 'back to black' products, but they still end up grey again, which is why i thought ''Sod it!! spray that sh!t up!!'' might look good all matt black, tryed doing it on Photoshop, and it does look good, and much better when i put the alloys on it, but i thought if im gona do all the trimming black, i will do the wing mirrors too, did think about the colour code, but would prefer black now

Depends what products your using, cheap back to black doesn't last long!
If your gonna paint em use satin black or get proper bumper paint

F*?KING HELL!!!!!!! boil Linseed oil is the dame dog's danglies!!! well if you see how grandad grey my bumbers and trims are in the pics, well.......... im lost for words, they look like they have been sprayed black, well impressed, id swear by it now tho my wingmirror's arent the same plastic as the trims and they aint turned as well as the rest, so may consider them still being sprayed black and leave the rest for the linseed oil. seriously if anyone wants the black stuff black again, get ya ass down to B&Q and buy some, you wont be dissapointed!!

Result!
But I do wonder who thought "I know, I'll boil up some linseed oil and see if it shines up tired old plastic..............ooh, yes it does!" Like who thought " I'm gonna boil up and eat whatever comes out of that hen's arse................very nice indeed!" Good job it was an egg then, cos 'boiled chicken shit and soldiers' doesn't really sound to good, does it!

It looks as if boiled linseed oil gives an excellent and maybe, a durable result can anyone confirm its durability ? None of the products specifically aimed at the car care market seem to give a durable result; but then, it would not be in their interest to do so would it

The concern that I have is, if a previous application of anything with silicone oil in it has been used, how does that affect the attachment of the film of boiled linseed oil

I used linseed oil on my truck a couple of weeks ago, lasted pretty well running up and down the country in all weathers, then when it went in for a service my jet washed it all off
