ok im starting to get a little sick of this, there is no "us and them" situation between us, its a free world, auto bahnstormers are a club, we are just a forum which may turn into a club, so lets not keep raising the membership fee of ABS in every other post, because end of the day 1) its a bargin 2)ABS have this raised evey year at there AGM,and every year they keep it the same. i dont mind the odd post but it seems daft to get into a situation where we take sides over each other,

To be fair, all the forums and clubs are going for one common goal, and that is to preserve the Carlton.

I was talking to a mate of mine who is well up on web site/forum type things & he said that it was likely that there would have to be a facility to restore deleted posts or threads from a forum. This would be built in to comply with certain legal requirements for cases of libel, threats etc.
So i take it this one doesnt have the facility?

Not being funny myself but it has been the only thread deleted. U.D got slagged for deleting his posts and i would like to make my own judgement.
And the friend who told me about being able to undelete is a Magistrate.

Have to agree with the subject matter reply from you mate, but don't think that the tag at the bottom (pardon the pun) of your post will win over much new members from the North of the border who are a minority at present with regards to Gay Scottish members. If they log on as a guest, doubt they will come back IMOA. In another thread, we were looking to increase membership and find new ways to do so. Think that will have the negative effect.

Why is it that every time a couple of guys disagree, dummies get spat out? Doesn't bode well for the rest of the membership. OK, me then! Banter's all well and good, and sometimes offence gets taken, the offender backs his statement up, the offendee gets on the offensive, yada, yada, yada................. Moral? If you dish it out, be prepared to take it - if you can't take it, then don't dish it out! Furthermore, we all have opinions, and not everyone will agree with them all the time - someone at some point, is going to differ. It's life - deal with it!! I do apologise for having a bit of a rant, but just lately there seems to be quite a bit of bickering among the Vauxhall communities (I frequent a few boards), and I'm jolly well fed up with it all. Could we all please lay down our handbags and step away!!! This thread's well past it's sell by date if you ask me.......................

Yep, At the end of the day i did make a point but it did get escalated. Mainly, a certain person did have a rant at me because i asked what happened to U.D. I had not been on for a bit due to ill health of my elderly parents. I didnt ask to be ranted at, but i got it and never got an apology. Something i am not is a fricking mind reader. Nice though for someone else to explain it though.

OK - that would be me then. I wasn't aware that you were offended by what I said, and I certainly wasn't aware that you were waiting for an aoplogy!
Sorry.
The main problem with any forum is the fact that the same threads come up time and time again. For the people who haven't been on in a while, or don't visit very often, they think that they have done nothing wrong, but for the people who post up every day and spend half their life on forums, they get tired with posting the same answers.
That is why there's a search facility on every forum you'll come across, so people who are aware that the same thread may have come up before can search, and if they don't find it, then they can ask. it's just a bit of forward thinking thats all.
It's like a newbie coming onto the ABS forum and saying: "My heater matrix needs replacing, what do I do?" (Yes, I did that when I first joined the ABS). If I'd done a search before posting it I probably would've found my answers and wouldn't have had to ask in the first place.

Ok. Apology accepted. But i was'nt aware that any such thread existed. By the time i came back on, (and i apologise again for being away for so long), what ever had happened had gone way down the list of threads and all i saw was breaks to lasts posts i made and could not make sense of it until i realised who was missing, hence why i asked. Tbh, this IS the ONLY forum i have ever joined and never thought of using the search facility. Sorry once again. At the end of the day, i am a boss myself with not too many employees under my belt, and one thing you have to learn is bite your tongue and use a bit of diplomacy or i would have lost them by now. We are only human, we ALL make mistakes.
