Saw one today too!  Rembrandt silver 2.0 saloon same colour as my estate. Drew up behind him at traffic lights on Rochester bridge.

There still around.

The last time I saw another Carlton that was used as everyday transport was way back during the summer of 2007. It was such a rare sight even then that I just had to take a picture of it to prove I wasn't seeing things!

I'd gone shopping on a Saturday afternoon at Tesco's in Yate and that above is was what we saw when we returned to my GSi with our shopping....I wonder if that Carlton is still alive now?? Undecided Undecided Undecided

Now-a-days I only ever see Carlton's at organised car shows which is a real scary sign of just how rare these cars are getting on our roads here in the UK.... Cry Cry Cry

I seen one today, I tend to see one every couple of months, when I was in Kosova almost every other car was a 'Carlton', or Omegas as they were Opels.

I recently went on Holiday to Tenerife and when we landed I saw a white 2.6i Omega A saloon being used as a Taxi. Sadly, I didn't get a picture of it as my camera was still packed away.....but this was the only Omega A I saw during the whole Holiday. Sad

I was hoping to see more older Opel's on the Island but the only other old Opel I saw from the 1980's was this 2.0i Ascona C which was being scrapped. It still had its 2.0i 20SEH 130bhp engine sat there intact! Shocked Shocked Shocked

I guess I really shouldn't be surprised at these cars becoming rare sights because old Opels were getting hard to spot when I last went to Benidorm too! Sad Sad Sad

Sean - I could be wrong, but wasn't the Opel Ascona the Vauxhall Cavalier over here?
That white, wrecked Ascona looks like a (rare) Cavalier B 3 door saloon to me................

No you are not wrong, that is 100% correct Pete! Wink I don't think I've totally lost it just yet?? I can still tell the difference between the various GM models. The Ascona C's got a lot in common with my mate Gary's Mk2 Cavvy Convertable that I've just helped him fit a C20XE in. There's nowt wrong with posting up a pic on TC of a rare FWD Opel is there? Undecided Undecided Undecided

When I go on my travels, I am always on the look-out for stuff that was also available during the Mk3 Carlton/Omega A/Senny B era. That Ascona was the only thing on Tenerife I could find.

I was hoping to see more older Opel's on the Island but the only other old Opel I saw from the 1980's was this 2.0i Ascona C which was being scrapped. It still had its 2.0i 20SEH 130bhp engine sat there intact! Shocked Shocked Shocked

Anyway, Thats why I said what I did above in my previous post. I thought I'd add the Ascona pics because it came from the same 1980's vintage as our Omega A's did!

Love the pic of the Ascona (MK2 Cav. late spec) GT. In 2 door form in the UK was only suppied for a very short time in the early years in base form. Only ever seen 2 of them. Us British buyer's never bought them and the feed back was poor so GM only went for 4 side doors on the hard top, but still supplied the 2 door convertible.

There are a few round here. Einarsson lives round the corner and there is a totally immaculate GSi 24v and a knackered pre-lift saloon in wakefield. There used to be a LC rep round here too, in grey primer with guide coat on it.

I wonder if thats the same car I saw at Billing at the beginning of the Noughties stealthstylz?? Undecided Undecided Undecided

The car I saw was a clean-ish F-plate White GSi 3000 the first year and the next year it came to Billing in primer with the LC replica kit but it still ran its standard 5 spoke 15inch alloys.

The bodykit was attatched by only woodscrews as all the bodywork modifications looked a little home-brew and iffy to me. It came to Billing two more years after that and to me never looked finished as it remained in its primer coating. Then it disappeared and I assumed it was scrapped! Sad Sad Sad

Yeah the bodywork on this was all obviously done at home by a blind man with Stevie Wonder shouting encouragement. Had some 17s on it I think, but still wrong offset to fill arches.
