[First 2 pics taken from http://www.senatorman.de/ and the other 2 from http://www.opelomegaforum.pl/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2177&sid=bd6af8c8bd9a34f8e186656a60457fe9]

Hello Dimitris! Thats the same chin spoiler in all the pictures you posted up mate. The bottom one looks slightly different because Opel (in their wisdom) airbrushed out the towing eye slot in all their promotional pictures and brochures. Wink Wink Wink

As you all can see, I have a few German magazine features regarding that exact kit. Sadly Chris....you are not the first to be fooled into thinking that this is an Irmscher item when it is not!

Its actually something of a styling excercise created by Opel themselves to enhance the appearance of their Omega A's bodystyling to make the lesser models look similar to the then top of the range Omega 3000. Think of this as a kinda Dealer Sport option for your vehicle and you should get the picture!

This bodykit was available from all European Vauxhall/Opel Dealers until December 1989 when it was discontinued because the Lotus version was exposed to the public and the facelift Omega A went on sale too.

Its highly unlikely to find a GM Dealership that still has one of these items for sale almost 21 years after it was discontinued but these do occasionally come up for sale on eBay. Unfortunately these are always 99.9% of the time listed up as "Rare Genuine Irmscher Lip Spoilers" (when they are not) and as such have a heavily inflated price for what they are.... Why would you want one of these front lip spoilers when you own a facelift Carlton? You would have to reto-fit the earlier cars bumpers to make it work. If you really want one, you can go to your local Dealership and find out for sure Einarrson!

If you quote these Opel part numbers, you might get lucky! Wink

2 - Front Lower Lip Spoiler = 17 19 527

3 - Side Skirts = 17 19 028 Left/17 19 029 Right

4 - Wheels = 17 50 312

5 - Boot Spolier = 17 19 810

6 - Rear Lower Lip Spoiler = 17 19 809

All of these part numbers are available from both the German and French Opel brochures that were available at Dealerships from November 1986....

If you want a set of these ten spoke wheels too Einarrson, UK 2.0i Voyager Estate's had these wheels and the facelift GSi 24v's had a slightly wider version fitted to them as standard. Buying secondhand items from UK buyers will be way cheaper than buying new. Opel went through a very thorough time testing these wheels to make sure that they were worthy to be fitted to their vehicles!

So you have this Irmscher bodykit then do you Chris? Cool

This kit is what Irmscher GmbH were offering all Mk3 Carlton/Omega A owners from roughly the same time as when the Dealer Opel stuff above became available. The earliest Irmscher brochure I can currently find with an obvious date listing this Irmscher kit is the Irmscher Echo magazine dated February 1987....

but all of this kit was available from the end of December 1986 so it was fresh and new for their January 1987 Catalogue 39.

Irmscher kept promoting this style of their bodykit throughout 1987....

and 1988 too....

and also 1989.....

until the Irmscher designed Opel Omega Evolution 500 bodystyle was shown to the World to help Opel compete in the 1990's Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft! Cool Cool Cool

so what is this then???

LOL! Wink

Chris, could you please just show me one Irmscher brochure or catalogue from the last 24 years that advertises that specific Mk3 Carlton/Omega A Lip Spoiler for sale mate? I've got a fair selection of Irmscher memorabilia and I cannot find one listed anywhere. Irmscher did not market these.....the GM Dealer Sport did!

Its no secret that Irmscher designed and made lots of parts for GM vehicles. Who do you think originally came up with stuff like the sleek Mk3 Cavvy GSi 2000 bodykit?? One of the most common items seen on our UK roads is the facelift Senny B boot spoiler which was originally designed and manufactured as a foam/rubber item by Irmscher GmbH before being copied for mass production by Opel. The foam/rubber spoiler was the only one marketed directly by Irmscher with its i47 01 404 part number and as such these are the only ones that's worth any real value today.

You really must have to think of this collaboration on the same scale as what Lotus does today for other vehicle manufacturers. Lotus makes its own cars as its a manufacturer in its own right but not everything that wears a Lotus badge or some Lotus parts is a proper pukka Lotus is it?

(Most true Lotus enthusiasts won't even accept the Lotus Carlton/Omega as part of their elite group even though these vehicles have a Type 104 part number! The reason they won't accept it is because Lotus's tuning was basically a modification to a mass produced vehicle and not a bespoke creation from this company marketed by Lotus directly.)

If it was, then every Proton or Isuzu on the Planet that currently wears a Lotus tuned badge would suddenly rocket up in value! Grin Grin Grin

Your photo's Chris of Yasmine Lee's Lip Spoiler prove my point of this to be true because it has a Vauxhall part number which is 90273348 in your photographs. No true Irmscher part has ever had a Vauxhall part number!

Irmscher part numbers over the last 30 years+ have always followed a set pattern which is i00 00 000. The "i" part is not normally on the actual item though (because the "i" stands for Irmscher and that's obvious to all), which I've used a pic of an Omega B Irmscher front Grill "40 01 003" to illustrate this.

When you order these Irmscher tuned parts though your Vauxhall Dealer, they also add a "Z" to the Irmscher code because it is a non-Vauxhall/Opel part. All of my Irmscher purchases over the last 17 years have followed this same pattern. For instance, the most recent was my Misses Vectra C Irmscher Spoiler which was listed as Zi 34 01 401 on my receipt.

Official Irmscher engine parts, Irmscher wheels to Irmscher body kits, etc, etc all follow this same code pattern of Zi 00 00 000 or i00 00 000 part numbers when purchased through Vauxhall Dealers.

Another one of your pictures Chris shows a KBA 36 314 part number embossed on to this Lip Spoiler. From my understanding, this "KBA" code means that this is not a part that is available, marketed or sold directly by Irmscher GmbH because its a part that was produced by them specifically for an outside client and as such is only available from the company who originally comissioned its production. In this case, the company in question is Vauxhall/Opel and thats why its got a 90273348 part number! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

In another TC post, Whippit made this comment below....

Well now your just arguing semantics Wink

and yes the same can be said about this topic too! Many people have argued for Donkey's years that this exact Lip Spoiler is an Irmscher item because Irmscher did design and make it. This is a fact that I cannot deny Chris but the problem arises because Irmscher did not design it for themselves or directly market it/sell it via any Irmscher outlet throughout the entire Globe.

It was commissioned by Vauxhall/Opel only and that's why you only ever see it advertised in the brochures produced by these GM subsidiaries. Its really just like antiques, Irmscher parts need to have a good provenance to be worth something and sadly this Dealer Sport Lip Spoiler with your Vauxhall 90273348 part number and its KBA 36 314 code....doesn't really have any.

It may be picky but I'm not the only one on our Planet who sees it like this....Sorry Chris!

HTH! Tongue

Oh and just one last thing, I personally think that Günther Irmscher wouldn't directly link His companys name with this item because of all the other terrible things that GM/Vauxhall/Opel were also trying to palm off onto the General Public in these period brochures.....

Some of these items pictured above are not really that bad but when you get to the interior choices..... Undecided

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Would any of you put your name to such bad styling as those seat covers?? Huh Huh Huh

that number matches the part number I have for it too! Cool Cool Cool

I've never seen or come across this i43 01 001 part number before Chris. I shall ping off an email to one of my German mates and I'll post back our findings.... Wink

Sorry its been quite a while since I last posted anything up on this lip spoiler topic but I wanted to be 100% sure that I was right with my original statements and I also had proof available about this "Sportstylers" Lip Spoiler before I continued with any further TC posts....

So, I now must admit to everyone that I got this statement below wrong! Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed

This bodykit was available from all European Vauxhall/Opel Dealers until December 1989 when it was discontinued because the Lotus version was exposed to the public and the facelift Omega A went on sale too.

This Vauxhall/Opel "Sportstylers" Lip Spoiler was not discontinued like I said earlier but instead it was just not very well advertised to the general public. It was still available to buy as late as 1997 and may even still be available now today but the only place you'd find it is in one of these old Factory sourced Dealership only parts brochures! Huh

Even in these brochures they were not exactly advertised to be very catching or pleasing to the publics eye....

Just a random part number on a page would not encourage me to part with my hard earned money on a pictureless part!

Even the written descriptions of the Vauxhall "Sportstylers" bodykit was vague.... Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

because maybe Vauxhall really wanted you to buy the more expensive newer facelift cars bodykit instead!

I've gotta thank Chris for providing me with this Vauxhall part number of 90273348 as without his picture of it in his earlier post on this topic, I would never have found out what exactly this part number was for. I only had the old Opel part numbers for it!

Now for the bad news Chris. Irmscher GmbH do not recognise that i 43 01 001 Omega-A part number because as I've said before, It was never officially available directly from them and now hopefully I can show you all the proof. I have now been in touch with my German buddies and I also personally checked all the Irmscher price lists I could get my hands on from the last 20+ years to try to find this number on your Vauxhall "Sportstylers" Lip Spoiler in any form of official Irmscher document.

The earliest Irmscher price list that had Omega-A parts listed in it was the June 1986 German one because the Germans had these cars for sale a whole year before we in the UK did....

but to save on any possible complication, this is the only German Irmscher price list I used to be posted up on this forum because its much easier for me to use the Irmscher UK English versions to show our members this proof because not only are these in our language but these UK price lists timed their price guides alongside the release dates for UK Vauxhall Carlton/Senator models that we are all used to. So these pictures below are of some of the other Irmscher documents I've used as research material....

and rather than me continuing on forever posting up pictures of this year on year Irmscher price list theme, I will limit the rest to a couple of random price lists to represent the past two decades, if thats ok with everyone.

I'm not totally sure how good these scans will be for our TC members to read but here goes.....

Here is the December 1989 Irmscher price list. I've used this one specifically because I've also aquired a Vauxhall Car & Van Accessories price list from March/April 1990 which is easy to get hold of 20 years after it was released but its as close as it gets for a direct comparison of what tuning products were on offer at this time for the Vauxhall Carlton from both Vauxhall and Irmscher.

Page 2 of the December 1989 price list shows the first "i43-Omega A" Irmscher part number being i43 01 002 which is the very next number after Chris's i43 01 001 part number.

The reason why Chris's Irmscher number is completely missing is simply because Irmscher GmbH didn't market these "Sportstyle" Lip Spoilers for themselves as it was not their product to do so. Irmscher GmbH was instead pushing their own unique bodystyling products while also making a profit manufacturing the Sportstyle" Lip Spoilers for Vauxhall/Opel which made lesser Omega A's look like the then top of the range Omega 3000! It was a total "Win-Win" situation for Irmscher as how could they possibly loose??

Just to prove that this Irmscher price list I've chosen isn't a one off fluke that I've fixed to win an arguement, here below is the February 1998 Irmscher price list that on page 6 again shows the "i43-Omega A" official part numbers starting with the i43 01 002 part number...

and on page 5 of a copy of the freebie photocopied April 2009 Irmscher price list that was available to everybody who attended the V.B.O.A. car show at Billing Aquadrome during July 2009.....this also shows exactly the same thing with Omega A/Mk3 Carlton Irmscher body parts starting with part number i43 01 002.

So where does Chris's Irmscher manufactured Vauxhall "Sportstylers" Lip Spoiler now fit into the scheme of things? Well, if I can now draw everyones attention back to the March/April 1990 Vauxhall car and van accessories price guide...

on page 13 of this document we can see part number 90273348 which is the part number allocated to this "Sportstylers" Lip Spoiler.

Printed next to this part number is the price Vauxhall wanted for this item in 1990....

If we now were to do an exact comparison with the Irmscher i43 01 002 official lip spoiler price from around the same period 20 years ago....

We'll see that the official Irmscher promoted and endorsed lip spoiler at £175.73 would cost nearly double the £94.25 what Vauxhall were asking for their Irmscher made Sportstylers" offering. Even in 1986 when both the Vauxhall "Sportstylers" and the official Irmscher lip spoilers came to market at the same time, the genuine marketed Irmscher item cost £137.24 which is still more that the 1990 price for the "Sportstylers" item was nearly 4 years later.

Even today Irmscher GmbH will still sell you their i43 01 002 lip spoiler if you want one....

But don't expect it to be cheap though as it cost £241.92 ten years ago....

and in the April 2009 Irmscher price list its risen to a whopping £306.00!!! Shocked Shocked Shocked

Before I end this post, I'd just like to mention the original box with GM part number that Chris's "Sportstylers" Lip Spoiler came in. Genuine official Irmscher endorsed products do not come boxes like this....

Only Vauxhall genuine parts arrive like this and sometimes they can arrive in plastic bags as we all know too....

but all of these Vauxhall parts have the familier blue & white GM label with a "90000000" part number that we are all used to that shows these Vauxhall parts have a real and genuine OE authenticity.

Brand new official Irmscher parts always come in boxes like these....

and the older Carlton/Senator genuine fully endorsed Irmscher parts may have stickers like this pictured below displaying their part numbers which is nothing like the blue & white GM labels.

If you are buying any tuned parts that are supposed to be OE Irmscher items and they are also supposed to be new & unused but do not come boxed like these pictures I've posted.....then you really should question their value/worth and authenticity because all Irmscher parts that have left the Germany factory are boxed just like these have been.

I'm really sorry if I have bored people to death with this really long post but I couldn't think of any other way to get the point across that Chris's Vauxhall "Sportstylers" Lip Spoiler is not the rare and valuable item that modern eBay sellers think it is.

It is a shame really because Chris's Lip Spoiler is a good quality item but it lacks any real provenance because it was never available to buy directly from Irmscher and so became just another anonymous Vauxhall item. These "Sportstylers" Lip Spoilers were always half the price of the pukka Irmscher stuff that was for sale at the same time and their true meagre worth and low value reflects this with us Irmscher enthusiasts even to this day.

Now if Chris had the i43 01 002 Irmscher lip spoiler and the rest of the matching full Irmscher bodykit for the pre-faclift car in his possession.....

Then he'd be sat on a small fortune in the eyes of us Irmscher enthusiasts! Cool Cool Cool
