Don't worry Jimmy, its all about 2010 admission prices at Billing Aquadrome. If you are a member of a V.B.O.A. affiliated Club....and you go through a specific procedure (that you are not allowed to mention/talk about to the outside World) then you should be intitled to a discounted admission price for the 2010 V.B.O.A. Billing weekend.

If you are not a member of such a car Club, then you pay full admission price when you arrive at the Gate. Thats the way I interpreted it.

No one said it couldnt be discussed, just that all the details couldnt be displayed.
I dont know what the need to stir is all about tbh! However what you have said regards billing is correct.

Jimmy - The booking system has changed and if you have decided to go with VODC then you will get all the info in a PM as soon as your name is on the list.
There is plenty camping space, and VODC has the same pitch as last year unless things change so there are no problems there. The only thing Mark has said is that there wouldnt be room for any caravans on the VODC camping area as they take up more room, but plenty space for tents! Its a great show whatever club you go with, so sure you will enjoy it!

I didn't realise I was stirring Steph. If people get pm's about this info when they sign up to the 2010 Billing event on the V.O.D.C. then why was there a need to post a link to the V.D.O.C. on TC about this show.....that not all TC members could see. That's all I was asking! Wink

For the people who've never attended this before at the Aquadrome and didn't have access to this discount price information which seem'd a little "Cloak & Dagger"-ish, it could've possibly made them unnecessarily panic that they might not be able to get into this Vauxhall show/event....thus not bother going.

But if that's what you call stirring, so be it! Grin Grin Grin

Importantly for anyone who cant be bothered with all this and maybe hasnt been before and is confused.......

You dont need to pre book or make any arrangements with any club to go to Billing.

Its just a big camp site and if you dont want to commit yet you can just wake up on the day and turn up just like any camper and go in.

The difference is you wont get the VBOA discount (its not expensive anyway) and you dont get to camp / park in a club area.

You do still get to turn up, park, see everything buy stuff etc etc.

Im posting this in case anyone is put off bothering by the need to prebook.

I can see both sides of this, The reason for the initial link being posted on here, as Steph says is to help thise folk on here that don't go onto the vodc site often, just to keep them " to speed", also posting the link in here also aids, not having to trawl through pages of unread posts that folk are subscribed to, so they have the link direct to the info needed.
Those folk that are cannot view the link, it isn't our intention to upset you or put your noses "out of joint", I would hope that those of you on here may consider joining up onto the vodc, & possibly consider coming along with us all to the vboa rally(billing). Cool Cool Its cheap as chips tbh, less than a round of drinks @ your local & all the benefits to boot. Cool Cool
The info, on the thread is for those that are in a club that is affiliated by the vboa, so if you're a member of another club that is, then you have the information you need, I also look forward to meeting you all, wether it be abs, oof, vodc, or a n other club! Wink Wink

AS Steph says, Its a great gig to go to, one i always look forward too, whoever you decide to go with. (beware this year, my mussis is armed with razors) Grin Grin

Its not a VBOA rule that you have to pre book its a Billing rule so if you dont pre book you will not be ableto enter the park as a camper, if you are just visiting for the day you can just turn up.

Believe me the VBOA really did not want to do this pre booking thing because it can / will / has caused a lot of problems  but the fact that we all have to pre book has been forced on us by Billing themselevs. If you have any questions then please dont hesitate to ask me and I will do my best to help.

The way I read it is the pre booking is for VBOA discounted rate only, if you are not expecting the special VBOA rates you are treated just like any other camper and pay the normal prices when you turn up.

If thats not the case then all campers who want to go on holiday to Billing whether anything to do with a car rally or not will have to pre book.

This is what I read.

"Therefore the VBOA camping rates will only be available on a pre-booked basis"

Just seems to be if you want to take advantage of the special VBOA rates, so if you just decide last minute you pay full price just like any other camper.

Can anyone clarify please.

I am sure that you'd get the same rate if it was only a week behind, but with the F1 going on, best to book earler. Wink Wink

This is correct. In order to get the VBOA discount you must book with Billing before June 30th stating the discount code, otherwise full rates apply. This is something Billing has decided, not the VBOA and only applies to camping.

Just a reminder Ladies and Gents, that time is running out for this one. Pre books need to be in by 30th June so if you are displaying with the VODC and you have paid your fiver but not booked your camping then you need to get your skates on!!

If you havent paid your fiver yet and you want to display with the VODC then its not too late to join us, just visit the thread on the VODC site and follow the instructions from there (I think there is a link in this thread somewhere).

Please note due to VBOA rules you need to be a paid up member of the VODC (or any other VBOA club) to display your car at this event.

In spite of the problems experienced with the pre booking system in the early days (which now seems to have been sorted thanks to the MD), Billing have vowed to work with the VBOA so that people that are not members of VBOA clubs are not allowed on our showfields and will be directed to the public area so you have been warned! - quite how they plan to police this is still a mystery but I am sure they will find a way!

For your protection there is additional security this year which has been provided by the vboa (which just happen to be camped next to us!)

Look forward to seeing as many of you as possible this year at the rally.
