VBOA National Rally (aka Billing)
[/b]

Dates: Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th July 2010
Costs:-
VODC: £5 per member - this includes:-
*As many car passes as you want (remember one for every car that you bring).
*Saturday night BBQ for you and your family or guests (not too many please! lol)
*Solvenier plaque
Billing gate cost: TBC
Information: This is the big one! There are lots of cars on display from the many clubs that form the VBOA plus a large autojumble and trade stands and lots more.

On the VODC stand we have a BBQ on the saturday night plus fun and meryment all weekend! The theme for this years VODC stand is 'TOP GEAR' so if you want to join in with this (its not compulsary!) then dress in something that reflects this theme such as, the stig, Clarkson or the Hamster or even May - the choice is yours!!
We will have a best car on the stand competition but it will be slightly different this year to make it more fair - all will be revealed as you arrive!

We have our own camping area again this year so that is on a first come first served basis and we may have some guests on that part that will be very useful to us - all I can say at the moment but once its confirmed i will spill the beans! If our camping area fills up to capacity then there are plenty of other spaces around the site to camp - tents only on the 'vodc camp site' please - loads of caravan pitches around the site that are close the club stand.

This will be a great weekend so why not join in the fun? There is a provisional list running which people have been adding their names to so that I can gauge interest.

I will be on site from Thursday evening so you are welcome to come along at any time after then
Once you have paid your £5 your name will be added to the official list in this thread and your vehicle pass(es) will be sent out once i receive them.

Payment of your £5:-
Either send a payment via www.paypal.co.uk to payment@vodc.co.uk (you dont need a pay pal account just a credit or debit card) or send a cheque, made payable to vauxhall opel drivers club, to Vauxhall Opel Drivers Club, 37 Coventry Way, Thetford, IP24 1DX

With your payment please include the following info:-
Your name and membership number
Number of vehicle passes required
Days attending
Number you are bringing to the BBQ (inc yourself)
Model(s) of cars bringing

Remember the vehicle passes are on a first come first served basis so the sooner you pay the more chance you have of getting the passes you need!

If you have any questions at all please either use the chat thread or e-mail events@vodc.co.uk

We now have the gate prices for this event but this has also been accompanied by a change in the camping booking process.

Please take a moment to read my post in the VBOA NATIONAL RALLY INFORMATION AND OFFICIAL ATTENDANCE LIST THREAD (Click to view)

If you have any questions or concerns please e-mail events@vodc.co.uk and I will do my best to help.

The new camping procedures have certainly caused some confusion and concerns!

If you are a VODC member then please post any comments that you may have in this thread: http://www.vodc.co.uk/showthread.php?p=175424#post175424

I have already e-mailed the VBOA with the concerns raised so far and have received clarification on some of them so I will update the info thread (link above) a bit later on.

Please keep an eye on the 'info thread' on the VODC site for the latest developments.

Any other questions, concerns or queries? Please post in the above thread or e-mail events@vodc.co.uk

I'm not trying to be bitchy here....I just don't want to join yet another car forum to see whats been posted about an up and coming Vauxhall event.

Maybe I should have made that clear from the start! Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed

So going back to what I mean't to say....Whats the point of having a post on TC than not all the TC members can see without joining another forum first?? Why can this information not be copied and pasted onto TC for all of the members to read?

Well Pete Thanks, Smiley I do know of another Carlton forum that failed because people had to be members just to view its topics. Because outsiders couldn't browse that forums subject matter without signing up....it was hard for it to attract new members. Imagine if TC became like that by blocking out all the "Guests" who read this forums free topics and subject matter?? Shocked Shocked Shocked

I just think that if a link gets cross posted up, we here on TC should be able to read it.....regardless. If its a case that V.O.D.C. rules say we should be members of their Club to view their cross posted subject matter....then it shouldn't be cross posted up on TC.

Either TC is a welcome part of the V.O.D.C. or its not.

JM2PW! Tongue

*Now I'm off to sit back in my easy chair*

*Playing Devil's Advocate*

Probably is - or soon will be - but not been posted on here cos unless you're a member of ABS, you couldn't see it.
If you were a member of ABS, you'd see it on ABS, so pretty pointless posting it up on here!

I'm not taking sides here, but I do think Sean has made a good point!

VODC are just trying to help. It doesnt have to be posted here if anyone fancies deleting it, and if you all want to join ABS and go with them thats entirely up to you.

However the VBOA states that in order to attend Billing you must be a member of a VBOA affiliated club which TC is NOT. There for VODC are offering you an option for attending. If you dont wish to or wish to go with another club thats fine.

Does make it easier for those TC users that are VODC members and do wish to go but dont get on the VODC forum much. They can get the info here instead.

As far as not letting non members see threads, VODC charges a membership fee and those that have paid get the privialege of seeing more of the site. TC does not have this issue, and was the whole point of it not becoming a club itself. Any member will be able to get the info they need through which ever club they wish to attend with but some of it cannot be broadcast to the open internet, hence only members being able to see.
