I'm sure quite a few of you will know my car & may have seen it on VODC but i have just registered on here & thought i should say hi.
For those of you who dont know my car i have a 1982 Mk1 Carlton 2.0 auto with a facelift interior. The car is finished in Dove blue metallic and bar a few bits & pieces is in pretty good order.
I have only owned the car since June last year but i have been quite busy with it having collected the car on a Saturday then showing it the weekend after at Harewood House in Leeds - during that week the car had the roof, boot lid, both quarter panels and one door repainted  ( not due to rust but basically the paint had pretty much fallen off! )
In October the car was used by a tv company for a drama that is being shown on the BBC sometime this year ( not Top Gear!! )

Look forward to posting a bit more later.

Its a drama called The Passionate Woman. It's going to be shown in 2 parts - the 1st is set in the 50's & the other is in the 80's. The car was there for 2 days but i bet its only on for a couple of minutes.

Hello and welcome to TC, Mr. Five. Grin

I'm a Wessie myself - from Harrogate, which was in the West Riding until 1974.
To be fair, it's west of York, so still is the West Riding!

Your MK1 used to be mine. I rescued it after a 10 year layup after the owner died. It was the most rust free example I could find. I had it for a couple of years and MOT'd it ( needed a new master cylinder which cost £160..ouch) but didn't use it. I sold it to a guy on Retro Rides for £250 after trying it on ebay and CCW at £450 with zero interest. It is a nice car and deserves to be cherished.

Here's a pic from when I owned it

Thanks for the replies everyone. I bought the car from the guy who got it from you for £400.00 which i think was a bargain. It has a few problems which are to be expected but it is very reliable - the 2 biggest issues are the brake limiter is leaking a bit ( i have just posted some pictures on the wanted section ) and it seems to have a pretty major oil leak from the autobox. The box will have to be looked at by somebody as i know nothing about them. Eventually i want to try & sort the bumpers out, the front one is bent on the o/s & the rear one has the rubber split.
I am well pleased with the car & am just starting to sort this years show.

All the best

I dont know yet, there is quite a bit of oil about underneath so i need to get it up in the air & clean it all up then keep an eye on it. Is the box in my car the same as one i have seen in another post that suffers from the filler tube leaking?
