Do we know the date of Manufacture - My 2 Manual 12v GSI's are

November 1987 - (E) Black (Restoring - SORN)
October 1988 - (F) Red (Restored - Taxed)

There is only 94 12v on the DVLA register and only 11 were taxed this year.

It would be good to put together some sort of register for the car left - Especiially the rare ones like Diamond Estate and 12v GSI's ?

I'd like to know what number mine are in the age list.

Then we now who's got what.

hi ,mine was first reg in the IOM , MAY 87 ,
first uk reg was may 2008

it think it was built earlier as i,ve seen a relay dated april 87

think mine could be the ninth one made , NOT CONFIRMED , SADLY !!

trouble is i think it went to the IOM , striaght from germany , so no early uk record of it ?

can it be tracked from germany ???some how , any contacts in russenhiam !

How do you guys go about finding out info on the cars left on the roads? I know you must talk to the DVLA but is there a special department? I'd love to know if you could break it down. Into pre/post facelift or even manual/auto. Apparently there is only 130 RHD LC's left (there was almost only 129 after the amount of piggin grief mine has been giving me) but I'd love to confirm this

An excellent post. I've just got into clay bars and dodo juice for my everyday runner, a 2001 530i. It really is an obsession once you get started. That website is one I didn't know about either. My wife will be pleased (not!!!)
