yeah yeah I know most people go the other way!
Right, I successfully removed the electic motor and mechanism.
Put in the manual mechanism (from a carlton)
However, the arm that sits in the guide on the door (as opposed to the 2 that hold the window) seems to be too long and pops out the end of the guide and interferes with the door locking solenoid?!
Am I doing something massively wrong or are there a couple of generations of winders? I thought senator and carlton front doors were the same?
Any help?
Thanks
Mark

I might be able to get hold of a complete set of "manual winey" bits and bobs for you, front and rear doors, door cards, lifters etc (all out off an ex police senny) my mate want to changes his to electric (which i have a complete set for him)......i'll ask him tomorrow when i see him

Have you got the slidy thing on the right way round? Easier in my experience to bolt that back on after you have put the rest of it in place. If you were nearby i could do this job in a flash, i have done the manual to electric conversion once (on your car!!) and electric to manual twice!!

Ill have a look at the mech in the passenger door to make sure Im not doing something daft! Gorfinkle, thats very kind dude, only need the drivers door one however! Passengers staying electric to I can wind it from the drivers seat and the rears are completely gone

Do the rivet holes not line up at all or will they just not line up with the window connected?

hey guys.
with the rivet holes lined up, the winders in the right place and one of the arms to hold the window up is in the right place, but the other pops out of its runner and fould the door locking solenoid and the connection to the door is also out of its runner.
guessing its just not the right one for the job in some wierd way!

I've only ever seen one manual sort for the Carlton/Senator. You need to be parked side by side to my car & we can get the job sorted!!
