Oh I see... just looked back at your posts and I see that you're using IE7.
Compatability mode is a feature of the later ones.

If you're not using IE8, upgrade. Despite the odd bug it is better than IE7.

Got Google Chrome, and it seems to work OK on that.

Not a fan of Google Chrome, because sometimes, it doesn't like it when you edit a post on a forum, but I'll stick with it.
I also have Firefox, but that's pretty damn slow - at least it was on the old PC.

I use Opera - works fine on that and it's faster than IE or Firefox.
