First off, my first post so I just wanna say hi to everyone...

I have an electrical problem which I wondered if anyone else had discovered.

My Carlton is a 1990 2.3 Diesal which is remarkably cheep and economic, however two weeks ago I went to start it and it was having none of it. Battery was virtually dead on arrival and there is no push starting a carlton single handedly.

So the AA came and gave it a zapp and all was well, i drove to work and it was fine.

However I left the car this morning (i work nights) and when my father left for work he noticed the interiour light was on? but the switch was pushed firmly home??

Does anyone reckon the relay that delays turning off the interiour light when you lock the car is knackered and is this a common thing?

All help or advice is much appreciated.

regards

mine doesn't have an off-delay, lights go out when you close doors and/or handle the switch.

Have you checked the switches near the door hinges?

It could be the delay circuit.

Take the bulb out..........you've still got the two small lamps either side of the main one, should you need an interior light................. until you replace the 'delay' unit.
