Right - job done.
My main worries (bear in mind I know bugger-all about autoboxes), were :
1. Should the box be in a particular gear to do the job - no.
2. Are there any issues with the electronics - no.
3. Are there any alignment issues (like on a Carlton auto) - again, no.
So it took about an hour, it's a bit fiddly, but at least now the 'box light goes out when it's started up from cold. I had to cut a lump out of the support bracket to get to one of the nuts - not a real problem as the battery tray holds it all back together when it's bolted back on, and wrecked the wiring plug clip, but used a couple of cable ties to ensure that it won't come apart (hopefully!).
Happy days.................
I know it's a Vectra, but someone you know might need this info one day!
