OK, so it's my Vectra, but I really ned to fit the selector switch tomorrow.

Anyone know how?  Huh Huh Huh

I have the switch, and it's nowt like a Carlton item, so I'm buggered, cos Haynes didn't do a Book Of Lies for the V6 Vectra! Roll Eyes

You would have thought so, Matt - tried there, clubvec and VS, but it seems no bugger knows owt.  Roll Eyes

Certainly not as helpful as us lot here, that's for sure!

I was just wanting to know if the gearbox had to be in N before work commenced, is there any setting up to do and any other useful info, but it seems the vectra owners of the UK are waiting for me to tell them - bloody FWD............

Oh well, I'm going in blind................ Grin

Right - job done.

My main worries (bear in mind I know bugger-all about autoboxes), were :
1. Should the box be in a particular gear to do the job - no.
2. Are there any issues with the electronics - no.
3. Are there any alignment issues (like on a Carlton auto) - again, no.

So it took about an hour, it's a bit fiddly, but at least now the 'box light goes out when it's started up from cold. I had to cut a lump out of the support bracket to get to one of the nuts - not a real problem as the battery tray holds it all back together when it's bolted back on, and wrecked the wiring plug clip, but used a couple of cable ties to ensure that it won't come apart (hopefully!).

Happy days.................

I know it's a Vectra, but someone you know might need this info one day! Grin
